Quicktime, Ogg, Vorbis
What does Steve Nicolai's Quicktime component do? Does it create
- an Ogg stream with Vorbis audio data inside it ?
- a Quicktime stream with an Ogg track with Vorbis audio inside ?
- a Quicktime stream with an audio track encoded with the Vorbis codec ?
(I wish it could do all the three options above)

Ogg Vorbis 1.0d3 available
The major new feature in 1.0d3 is the addition of an importer
and a sound decompressor. This means that MacOS X and Win32
users can play sounds.
MacOS 9 users will need to wait a bit more (or help me with
the project) as the sound decompressor has an additional
requirement that it may not allocate memory while decompressing.
Some work needs to be done on the vorbis libraries to meet
this

Can't play OGG Vorbis in iTunes but can in QuickTime Player
XiphQT for Windows 0.1.5, iTunes 10.5.0.142, QuickTime 7.7.1, Windows Vista
SP2 Home Basic 32 bit.
It worked with iTunes 10.0.1.22 (QuickTime 7.6.8). But stopped after last
update of iTunes and QuickTime.

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component
Hi all,
I don't know if this is the place to ask about this, but I'm going to
try anyway. There is an ogg-vorbis plugin for iTunes on Mac OS X that
is downloadable from
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14259
or
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/13012&mode=feedback
Unfortunately, this plug-in (a Quicktime component) crashes iTunes for

Ogg Vorbis compatible with Darwin Streaming Server?
Hi,
I saw the documentation "RTP Payload Format for Vorbis Encoded Audio".
My question: The Darwin Streaming Server (OpenSource and free for
several plattforms) streams media with RTSP/RTP.
For more information:

I know that a QuickTime Component of Ogg Vorbis

Ogg Vorbis Player(s)
Mr. Christopher Montgomery
Lead Programmer
Xiph.Org.
<p>Dear Sir,
I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which player(s) to
use to listen to streaming radios
broadcasting on the Net in the OGG VORBIS format. I understand that
several French radio stations
(France Inter, France Info etc...) are adopting Ogg Vorbis and I would
like very much to try it.
I have heard of several

It didn't look that bad to me; just a lot of time figuring out how
you're supposed to do things. But then, I have some background in MacOS
programming.
However, people in the past have hit bugs pretty fast. That's part

Quicktime + FLAC?
If i could find some good documentation on quicktime, i'd probably give it a
shot... since i already have most of the infrastructure already for
directshow.
I had a look a few times for detailed info on quicktime, and it all looked
pretty painful.
Not to mention all the base media handler code provided for the sdk, says
not suitable for bitrates greater than like 32kpbs which is useless

can't export from iMovie 08 to ogg theora/vorbis?
Hey, I got this report on irc and I thought I would pass it along. I
verified on my machine as well.
If you have the XiphQT components installed (I have 0.1.8) and you try
to export from iMovie '08 you get a vague dialog that says:
Unable to export movie
The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (Error code
= -32766)
I tried messing with some of the settings, but no

Please help me convert Quicktime Movs into .ogg
Hi there, I'm Andy Jenkins. I work in broadcast video and have recently
had a client ask for a programme supplied as a .ogg file. I am in no
way a computer programmer, but am trying hard to find out more about
creating ogg files. I have downloaded the ogg quicktime components and
can certainly view and hear picture and audio, however I cannot
successfully export an .ogg. I can however

flac ogg quicktime iTunes
Hello,
I'm going to start by asking something that has probably been asked
before (although I didn't see it on the lists at sourceforge). Is
anyone working on getting iTunes to work with flac?
I'm bouncing around a few ideas and it seems like the logical approach
would be to write a quicktime component using this project as a base

it helps.

Quicktime Component
Good news all!
I now have a functional version of the Quicktime Component of the Ogg Vorbis
decompressor. In English: this extension will allow all Quicktime apps to
play .oggs (including iTunes).
I plan on posting it ASAP. I have a few problems with memory that I'd like
to get cleared up first. I plan on carbonizing it as soon as it functions in
classic.
I'll also do a Winders version.

Problems with Vorbis & Mac OS
I'm currently writing a (really simple) QuickTime component for
playing Vorbis files, and I've run into a problem which appears to be
in libvorbis, not in my code - it affects the sample encoder &
decoder as well as my component.
When I encode a file on the Mac using the sample encoder, I can
decode it again with no problems. However, if I try to decode a file

XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead?
Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X?

QuickTime for Linux and vorbisfile
I recently began working on an application which will combine
Ogg Vorbis with QuickTime on the Linux platform. I am using Ogg
Vorbis 1.0rc1 and Adam Williams' QuickTime for Linux 1.3 library
(http://www.heroinewarrior.com/quicktime.php3).
I am having a strange problem.
As soon as I #include <quicktime/quicktime.h>, the code causes a
segmentation fault when run. When I look at it with

Quicktime audio export atom
Good afternoon-
Please forgive the rank newbie question - I'm putting together an app that
exports audio into Ogg Vorbis files using Quicktime in Cocoa/Obj-C. Source
files could be anything, with or without video, with 8 or more tracks.
I want to export the audio track-for-track (no downmixing). The only things
I want to vary are the bitrate of the output and in- and out- points of the
