Ogg icons / glyphs -- use of copyrighted images?
Do we have a standard icon and/or glyphs identified for GUI-based applications? I'm adding Vorbis support to CDMaster32 and I'm finding I'm in need of 17x17 glyphs (.bmp) to graphically show progress of OGG files. Has anyone thought about this? If not I was thinking of modifying/reducing the Xiphophorus "fish" logo to use in my application; however, since the xiph www site

FAQ updated to new bitrates?
I was looking at the Vorbis FAQ at http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#bitrate and noticed that the FAQ appears to be outdated and still shows Beta2 bitrate limitations. When will the FAQ be updated to Beta4 or RC1? What are the officially supported bitrates under Beta4 / RC1? Win32 DLL
I've put together a first cut for a Win32 DLL using the BladeEnc interface. Right now, it's just a drop-in replacement for BladeEnc.dll that ignores all encoding parameters passed to it and uses the info_A vorbis_info struct (same as the encoder_example). It's not particularly useful as of yet, but you can rename it to BladeEnc.dll and use it with any number of rippers out there

thoughts about MP3 -> OGG convertor
Everyone here already knows that convertings mp3s to oggs is a very bad idea. However many users don't care and will find a way to convert anyway. I propose that there be a tool to automatically do it that comes with vorbis-tools, that way it can automatically tag it as SOURCE=MP3 (or whatever). Of course we should have it emit a warning that it is bad to convert from mp3 to ogg but users

Excessive chaining or multiple comboot files
Does SysLinux support multiple comboot files in combination with a bootsector load? Here's what I'm thinking of doing but cannot seem to find a piece of software which will allow me to do what I need. Basically; I need/want to write several small programs which execute before the OS takes control. Today; I have a "bootloader" which copies the original bootsector to an unused

CBDTPA
Hi, <p>John Zitterkopf sent a mail to his beta-testers and registered users about the "Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act" containing this link: http://www.vanshardware.com/articles/2002/03/020325_CBDTPA/020325_CBDTPA.htm Although I'm not an American, I find it quite interesting and disturbing, which is why I want to share it to the list. I think it might

Questions regarding upgrading existing PDC to Active Directory
Hi all, I have an existing CentOS server at my school running Samba 4.8.8 as a PDC and using the Tranquil RPM’s (so they support AD). Samba has worked great for me for more than a decade with the users stored now in tdbsam (have not used LDAP, hope not to). This summer I want up upgrade the domain to an AD, and have some questions I was hoping someone could answer: 1. TWO SERVERS: At the

sprintf does not print
Dear all I have an sprintf inside a loop to track changes in variable's value. explorer freezes on right-clicking .exe's
I'm using samba 2.1 pre-alpha. When I right click an .exe file on the most shares, explorer freezes, and must be killed to recover. The problem doesn't show up on the home shares, but appears on any other shares I create. I've experienced this problem on many different workstations. Looking at the logs, it seems to be a problem with oplocks; the part of the log that seems to apply is

RedHat Linux 6.1, Samba, & DHCPD problems
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hi, I've checked the archives, and didn't see anything relating to this: I have a RH 6.1 fileserver running Samba (latest update from RH). I have 3 computer plus a laptop on this network, all properly accessing the Samba shares. The IP address for all of these systems are statically assigned. Also, all of these systems automatically restore a file

DAHDI FXO calls and the 's' extension. No, Jackie-O doesn't work here--it's just an example. Sheesh!
Calls that come in on DAHDI FXO ports are routed to [context], extension 's' INSTEAD, I would like to route specific ports to specific extensions, For example: I want DAHDI/1-1 to go to 1234 I want DAHDI/1-2 to go to 2345 I want DAHDI/1-3 to go to 3456 ...etc What is the CLEANEST way to do this? Yes, I can create a private context for each DAHDI channel but that seems messy and

Remove Virtual bridge and DNSMASQ
I am running KVM virtualization with libvirtd (libvirt) 0.10.2 in bridged network mode, however I still have the default virtual network bridge/interfaces and dnsmasq on the host. What I am trying to understand is whether or not dnsmasq and the virtual network (*virbr0, Vnet0 and Vnet1*) still play any role. If not, can I remove them? On most virtual hosts I see they are left around even when a

feature request: control in ogg123
Hi people! I think it would be cool if ogg123 had a mode in which you could conrol it with stdin. pausing, quitting/stopping and seeking would be enough imho. mpg123 already has something like this (I think -e). I'd do it myself but I'm busy. Shouldn't take much time. Bye, Peter Surda (Shurdeek) <surda@bigfoot.com>, ICQ 10236103, +4369910964300 -- The dark ages

ogg123 STDIN-control patch
Hello ppl! I asked some time ago how about adding the option to control ogg123 interactively from command line, similar to mpg123. So I got fed up waiting and added it myself today. The code initially comes from mpg123, I already adapted it to work with aviplay and vlc so it's proven and shouldn't introduce many problems. The only problems I see now: - in order to compile ogg123 now
