DSP implementation of Vorbis?
Hello I would like to get ideas from anyone who has tried implenting vorbis (decoder) on DSP. I have a TI TMS 'C3x DSK, and would like to try cross compiling the C code to C3x DSK using the GNU c4x-tools. -- Ramakrishnan M --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send

Vorbis Block Diagram
Hi, I have looked through the documentation available from the downloads and the web and haven't yet come across a block diagram which shows exactly how the process of going from a .wav file to a .ogg file works. I suspect it is the same as the mp3 process (with a different psychoacoustic model). I found this document:

Makefile dependencies in vorbis-tools
I've been trying to tackle the vorbis source. I ran across what I think is a missing dependency in the vorbis-tools directory. Since ogg123 and vorbize are staticly linked to libvorbis and vorbisfile, when those file change, the executables should be rebuilt. Below I've attached a patch. (I hope it works. I am sort of new to patch and diff.) BTW, I've been trying to find a good

Documentation.
Hi, the ogg vorbis project is all about openness if I am right. But I see from the website that none of the documentation is in place. There is no point in saying that "Hello we have an open format", unless /all/ the documentation is in place. For example, I wanted to contribute something to the project, but without documentation, the developement will be confined to a select few.

Implementing Vorbis in hardware
Hello, I'm investigating the feasibility for implementing the Vorbis algorithms in hardware. Currently, MP3 has hardware bitstream decoders, and I'd like to determine how difficult a Vorbis hardware decoder would be. Does anyone know where I can find a detailed flow diagram of a Vorbis decoder? Also, I've downloaded the C files and I'm currently trying to understand them. Can

Vorbis encoder?
I have been looking at Vorbis support material for the past few days and have found no helpful reference to encoding Vorbis files. I found a diagram ( http://stoffke.port5.com/en_block/block_en.html ) and a document titled "Vorbis illuminated" but they disagree on the flow of the encoder. Is the diagram accurate or should I believe the (difficult to read) vorbis illuminated? My

encoder block diagram
I've made block diagram of the encoder because I tried to find out, how it works http://stoffke.freeshell.65535.net/ogg/block.html Although there are specifiation docs, that give very detailed information about single aspects of the encoding (or decoding) , I'm missing documenations that give a more general overview, about how the encoder works. (Vorbis Illuminated seems a bit outdated,

What the heck? A Vorbis scam?
Just today I received a weird e-mail that contained a worm (WORM_GREW.A) attached to it. Ogg Vorbis questions
Hi, I'm currently working on a paper describing Ogg Vorbis. It is not finished yet. Mostly the decoder is being described. If you have any comments, please send them to me. See: http://www.turbocat.net/~hselasky/math/vorbis/files/ Then I have a question about the function "bark_noise_hybridmp()" which is used in the encoder. Can someone describe what the function does in

Problems with Vorbis & Mac OS
I'm currently writing a (really simple) QuickTime component for playing Vorbis files, and I've run into a problem which appears to be in libvorbis, not in my code - it affects the sample encoder & decoder as well as my component. When I encode a file on the Mac using the sample encoder, I can decode it again with no problems. However, if I try to decode a file I've downloaded

Yet another vorbis vs. mp3 comparison
One thing I must note before I begin is that, I probably just am not that well skilled at listening, but I can hear no difference between vorbis, mp3, and wav at the bitrates I encoded them at. lame 3.83 (beta) was used to encode the mp3s and mpg123 was used to decode. The current (Jun 8 00) encoder/decoder examples were used for vorbis. mp3s were encoded at 128 kbps, and vorbis is unknown

Next Vorbis beta, MPEG+ enkoder
Hi. When can we expect the next beta version of Vorbis encoder (with some tagging & encoding options I hope)? Also, today I tested MPEG+ encoder which you can download from http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/73884/mppenc.zip (win encoder) http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/73884/in_mpp.zip (winamp plug-in) http://www.stud.uni-hannover.de/user/73884/mppdec.zip (win decoder) It sounds

Hello - I send this to the vorbis-dev list yesterday, but I’m working if it would not have been better targeted at this list. How to down load Ogg Vorbis Decoder?
Hi All, I downloaded vorbis-tools-1.0.1 from http://www.vorbis.com/download.psp for windows platform. It contains workspace for Ogg encoder. It seems Ogg decoder is not there. In Oggdec folder oggdec.c file is there. If I include this file in the workspace it gives some linking errors. Please tell me, how to download the current version of Ogg Vorbis decoder on Windows platform? Best

Understanding of Vorbis coder
Hi I have gone through the document available in the net regarding the Vorbis encoder /Decoder. Based on that i have prepared a understanding document on the encoder/decoder block. I would like to know whether my understanding of the coder is OK. If there are any other additional block /information pl. provide me with the same. Thanks and regards S.Padmashri <HR NOSHADE> <UL>

Fixed-point Vorbis decoder
Hi, I'm the author of a fixed-point MPEG audio decoder called MAD: http://www.mars.org/home/rob/proj/mpeg/ I've been considering the possibility of writing a similar fixed-point decoding library for Ogg Vorbis. Unfortunately, every time I've looked for Vorbis decoding specifications, I have found them incomplete. :-( I'd rather not try to reverse-engineer specifications
