Problems compiling under OS X
While trying to compile libao 0.8.0 under OS X 10.1, I got the following problems: > [localhost:ecc/Sources/libao-0.8.0] root# ./configure > creating cache ./config.cache > checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c > checking whether build environment is sane... yes > checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes > checking for working aclocal... found >

Mac OS X DP4 patches
I've tweaked Tim Wood's Mac OS X DP4 patches so they compile and run reasonably well on OS X DP4 and added a couple minor tweaks of my own. I've placed diffs from the head revision in cvs at my web site: <http://www.gizzywump.com/vorbis-macosx-diffs> This includes a new file at vorbis-tools/libao/ao_macosx.c, which is in the diff. Note that "patch" doesn't seem

ao hard codes -ldl in configure tests
Rather than using libtool to build its sets, the ao.m4 in beta3 is hard coding '-ldl': AO_LIBS="$AO_LIBS -lao -ldl" Not all systems have a dl library. For now, I can obviously just remove it and keep working on stuff, but what would be a suitable patch that would get accepted to be committed? Should I just check the current build target and set AO_LIBS differently on my

[LLVMdev] Modeling GPU vector registers, again (with my implementation)

There are 4x4x4x4 = 256 permutations. For example: * xyzw: default * zxyw * yyyy: splat Even if can model each of these 256 cases as a separate physical register, how can I model the use of r0.xyzw in

Mac OS X / Darwin patch for vorbis-tools
This patch (along with all the previous patches) gets oggenc and ogg123 working. This does not get vorbiscomment working, although I assume that would be trivial -- just add the getopt stuff to the project just like I did in ogg123. In addition to this patch, as I just mentioned, getopt1.c getopt.h and getopt.c need to be copied from oggenc to ogg123 and added. The host check in

ogg123 running under MacOS X
I finally managed to compile ogg123 under MacOS X, after creating a PB project for it. Rillian, do you want to include the PB project in cvs? (it needs a LOT of polishing, though). ---------- Ogg123 from PACKAGE VERSION by Kenneth Arnold <kcarnold@arnoldnet.net> and others Usage: ogg123 [<options>] <input file> ... -h, --help this help -V, --version display

[LLVMdev] Modeling GPU vector registers, again (with my implementation)
It seems to me that LLVM sub-register is not for the following hardware architecture. All instructions of a hardware are vector instructions. All registers contains 4 32-bit FP sub-registers. They are called r0.x, r0.y, r0.z, r0.w. Most instructions write more than one elements in this way: mul r0.xyw, r1, r2 add r0.z, r3, r4 sub r5, r0, r1 Notice that the four elements of r0 are written

Core Audio player for OS X?
There are a few flac players on OS X now, but none (at least none that i know of) seem to use Core Audio. So they all freak out if i try to play a 24/96 file. I was recently poking around with the Tiger X Code tools and there's a simple core audio player in there /Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/Services/AudioFileTools/ called afplay. how hard would it be to get this thing playing flac

how to include FLAC in a CoreAudio wave player
Hi everyone, I'm still new at this audio development thing in OSX as all of my prior experience is in database applications. I'm also new to C++ and the Xcode environment, which makes things interesting as I learn. There is a CoreAudio wave player written in C++ to which I would like to add FLAC playback support. I have looked through the libFLAC++ API and think I have an idea of what

Support for CAF in flac command-line?
Hello all, Is anyone here potentially up to the task of adding support for CAF (the CoreAudio Format) into the flac command-line? This would present minimal difficulty under OSX, due to the presence of the CoreAudio API, but the real challenge would be to support CAF on Unix and Windows - everywhere that flac is now available. Although the format is rather unknown, there are some very

Mainline nonportability
Hi folks, I'd like to remind people with write access on the CVS mainline not to put any tools/libs/patches into the main build that are not portable... I'm getting not-very-pretty flames from NetBSD folks because libao fails to *configure* under NetBSD (let alone build), thus breaking building the build for the entire CVS mainline. Specifically: >checking size of int...

problem using libao on OSX 10.4
Hello, I built the entire Vorbis kit on my PowerMac G4 running OSX 10.4.6. I'm having problems however doing anything with the libao package. Any time I try to use the library to link it errors out with the following message: /usr/bin/ld: Undefined symbols: _dlsym_auto_underscore collect2: ld returned 1 exit status If I try to run the ogg123 application I get this:

svg as a spescial case for image
SVG starts to become more useful in browsers like Firefox, OmniWeb, Opera and soon Safari. There is a couple problem. Since no browser support svg embedded with img one need to fall back to html from: <object data="/path/to/img.svg" type="image/svg+xml" width="512" height="384">Alt text</object> Second, one need to write the width

ao changes
Why has ao been changed so that there are now two open() functions ? IMHO the original ao_open() was fine - if you wanted to set the filename for output, you could add an option via ao_append_option and if you wanted to avoid overwriting an existing file, you could stat() it yourself. Having ao_open_live() and ao_open_file() just makes more work for the user of the library for no gain, AFAICT.

Serving static files with Merb
Hi, I''m using Merb from the svn repository (revision 224, Merb 0.3.0). I am playing around trying to return static files. I''m opening a File and returning that from the controller. I''m setting the mime type and the content length (other wise nothing much happens). All requests for static content go through the same action of a particular controller. This is

problem using libao on OSX 10.4
I installed fink and now I have the /sw/lib, however that didn't fix my problem. I went as far as to take out the - Ddlsym=dlsym_auto_underscore out of the configuration files. Now however the libao package won't build at all and yips about this: [ukiel:/MP3/OGG/libao-0.8.6] wind% make Making all in src Making all in plugins Making all in oss make[3]: Nothing to be done for
