WinAmp Plugin
Hi, I downloaded afew off files from the site (www.vorbis.com) and also downloaded the winamp plugin (dll file), but I am unable to play the off files. -- Ramakrishnan.M | Phone : (+91-80)-5099132 DSP Applications Group, Texas Instruments | email : rkrishnan@ti.com Bangalore, India | rkrishnan_m@yahoo.com ---

Makefile dependencies in vorbis-tools
I've been trying to tackle the vorbis source. I ran across what I think is a missing dependency in the vorbis-tools directory. Since ogg123 and vorbize are staticly linked to libvorbis and vorbisfile, when those file change, the executables should be rebuilt. Below I've attached a patch. (I hope it works. I am sort of new to patch and diff.) BTW, I've been trying to find a good

Advanced Persistent Threats; Why aren't we confining Firefox and Evolution?
Moat of the advanced persistent threats (APT) are initiated via e-mail. Opening an attachment or clicking on a web link starts the process. Why isn't Firefox and Evolution confined with SELinux policy in a way that APT can't damage the rest of the system? Why are we not sandboxing these two apps with SELinux? I've discovered some guidance for sandboxing Firefox using the

Build one VM with two 5.7 DVD iso
Hello Group, I am trying to build one VMware VM for 5.7 centos. However, there are two DVDs. And all vms I have build so far are confined in one iso. How could I build complete 5.7 centos VM with two different Centos DVDs. I am sure somebody out there must have built one such OS. Please guild. thanks. nagrik

Nonliner Rgression using Neural Nnetworks
Hi, I am an old hand at chemistry but a complete beginner at statistics including R computations. My question is whether you can carry out nonlinear multivariate regression analysis in R using neural networks, where the output variable can range from -Inf to + Inf., unlike discriminant analysis where the output is confined to one or zero. The library nnet seems to work only in the latter

fitting a confined mixture model
Hello all, I would like to fit a mixture model whose components are normal distributions confined in a closed interval. Since there are already several packages for EM, I would like to extend one of these instead of writing a new script from scratch. What would be the best way to customize such an existing package for doing that? Which one is the best in terms of extensibility? (e.g mixtools,

Printed/PDF Reports (Text/Tabular/Summary) in Rails
The recent discussion about different graphing solutions made me think. What is everyone using for general reports? Currently I have a web based application at work that has roughly 20 different reports ranging from simple tabular data with totaling at the bottom to pretty, colorized, graphic logo''s,etc... going to clients, and finally complex ones I hate to think about such as

Problem with Trellis graphics in nlme
Hi, I would be grateful for help with a problem which is irritating me. I am quite sure that I am doing something stupid, but I can't see what it is. I am running R 1.7 on Windows 2000. The graphics device is the PC screen. The graphics from the nlme demonstration in Bates an Pinheiro's manual work just as advertised. The CO2 data and the Orthodont data dsiplay

Snom 300 Echo
We're deploying an asterisk-based phone system at all of our branch offices in an effort to eliminate long-distance costs incurred from the constant branch to branch calls. We're using the Snom 300's at all offices for the desk phones and X100P cards to interface to 2 analog lines. I'm having a problem tuning all the echo out of the system. So far two branches are using the

clogit and general conditional logistic regression
Can someone clarify what I cannot make out from the documentation? The function 'clogit' in the 'survival' package is described as performing a "conditional logistic regression". Its return value is stated to be "an object of class clogit which is a wrapper for a coxph object." This suggests that its usefulness is confined to the sort of data which arise in

Let's stop using target specific intrinsics in generic code
There are a few places in llvm's generic codegen that refer to target specific intrinsics. This is bad layering and we shouldn't do it. It also means that if we don't build a target we still have to support all of it's intrinsics and other such annoyances. The main violator of this is InstCombineCalls - I'd like to push this into the targets, and just have a case that says

Roaming profiles problem - loading failure
I have a samba 2.2.4 PDC which acts as the repository of roaming profiles. Just recently some of our users have experienced failure to load roaming profiles. The clients are on a pair of Windows 2000 terminal servers. The failure does not seem to be confined to one server and only affects some people. The error given takes place during the loading profile stage: Windows can not copy: \\Samba

[LLVMdev] proposal to add MVT::vAny type
The ARM Neon load, store and shuffle operations that I've been implementing recently with LLVM intrinsics do not care about the distinction between vectors with i32 and f32 elements -- only the size matters. But, because we have only MVT::fAny and MVT::iAny types, I've been having to define separate intrinsics for the operations with floating-point vector elements. It

c/s 18470
This changeset reverts two previous corrections, for reasons that escape me. First, the domain map is again being confined to NR_CPUS, which I had submitted a patch to fix recently (yes, I realize the code has a TODO in there, but those really get forgotten about far too often). Second, the platform hypercall was reverted back to require all information to be passed to Xen in one chunk, whereas
