MIME Types and File Extensions
Hi All, On the Xiph Wiki page at: https://wiki.xiph.org/MIME_Types_and_File_Extensions I added Opus to several of the sections, but wasn't sure whether to add "Theora + Opus" to: .ogv - video/ogg .axv - video/annodex As far as I can tell, according to the Opus FAQ at: https://wiki.xiph.org/OpusFAQ#Will_Opus_replace_Vorbis_in_video_files.3F Theora + Opus is

Revisiting mime-types and file extensions
Hi, I'm in the process of adding support for Markdown to a minimal CMS in Rails, [Railfrog][railfrog], which uses mime types to select appropriate processing. I have had a look through the archives but have not been able to see that a consensus has emerged as to what such a mime type for Markdown should look like. My reading of the RFCs suggests that it should be within the "text/*"

OGGs MIME type?
Hi! According to ftp://ftp.isi.edu/in-notes/iana/assignments/media-types there hasn't been any MIME type registered with OGG yet. What will it look like? audio/ogg, audio/prs.ogg, audio/basic or something like that? I'm asking because .ogg files are displayed as text in browser windows as long as it isn't registered. Netscape for Linux claims not to need a MIME type in its

Please last call this individual draft (fwd)
After much bureucracy in the IETF hierarchies and sort of chaos-like organization, it seems I have got the matter so far that a four-week last call will be issued so that application/ogg finally becomes a standard. Don't jump of joy just yet, but I have feelings that it actually may happen now. :-) The "last call" is not yet issued! (They started discussing adding this MIME-type in

php and mime type
Hi list, I'm hoping to find a way via php, preferably without using exec() or system(), to reliably identify an ogg vorbis file via php. Using $fi = new finfo(FILEINFO_MIME); $mime_type = $fi->buffer(file_get_contents($upload)); results in 'application/ogg' My site accepts vouchers for herpetology records, but only image and audio. I do not wish to support video vouchers, but

Ogg MIME types scheme
Hello everybody, I hope to finish this MIME types discussion with these conclusions - it's taken enough bandwidth on these lists :). So here's a generic MIME types scheme that we all seem to be able to agree on and all that is needed for the moment. --- 1) Ogg encapsulated files: Any data that is encapsulated in an Ogg container will us the MIME type: application/ogg (as already

Some scratches with beta3
Hi, I have included the oggvorbis encoding and playback stuff in the Linux-Mandrake distro back in August 2000. At that time I put the "nightly CVS" version, which worked just fine. Then on Mon Nov 27 I noticed some RPM's labelled "1.0beta3" on the website so I upgraded with these ones. Since then we have had some serious problems in encoding: approx 20% of the WAV

IPv4...NAT...etc
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2003-March/008088.html "why is there such a delay in getting ipv6 rolled out when it solves all these problems ?" === There are many reasons... 1. Leasing Address Space from the I* society (small s...aka the Big Lie Society) is not desirable by all people... 2. The IPv6 Privacy Problem...that is especially important in the area of computer

Folders with ~ (tilde) slow to save
running Version 3.6.23-14.el6_6 I'm having slow save times with folders names ~something.. ie. /www/~bin/content.txt. doing this via a windows share.. when I save file it has a moment (few seconds) of hesitation.. then saves. When I do /www/bin/content.txt. the file saves instantly. Is there anywhere I can change a setting to fix this? or is this a bug. I've looked in the logs

Confusion on call forwarding
I'm confused. What does Asterisk do when it gets a 302 with a new number to forward to? Is there anything I have to do in the dialplan to make this work? I can't find any clear documentation on this issue.

Paranoid Firewalling
After reading this article: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/08/31/blocking_chinese_ip_addresses/ I got to thinking that there is really no reason for *any* traffic to hit my servers that comes from anywhere outside North America. So I wrote the perl script at the end of this posting to extract selected IP ranges posted at iana.org and convert them into iptables rules blocking any traffic
