XiphQT doesn't export to Ogg Theora
Hi ,
I tried XiphQT with QuickTime to view all Ogg Theora files and works
perfectly.
I also try to import these Ogg Theora files into iMovie and works perfectly.
But there is a lack of export Ogg Theora function into QuickTime.
XiphQT component works well but you can't make Ogg Theora files.
There is a way to open a new ticket for this request?

can't export from iMovie 08 to ogg theora/vorbis?
Hey, I got this report on irc and I thought I would pass it along. I
verified on my machine as well.
If you have the XiphQT components installed (I have 0.1.8) and you try
to export from iMovie '08 you get a vague dialog that says:
Unable to export movie
The movie could not be exported because an error occurred. (Error code
= -32766)
I tried messing with some of the settings, but no

transcoding to theora from quicktime using xiphqt
Hi,
I'm trying to convert some quicktime files into Ogg/Theora using the
Xiph QuickTime Components version 1.8.
The end goal is to stream these files using apache httpd and the cortado
applet (and hopefully the embedded players that will be in Firefox
soon).
Using iMovie DV on OS X 10.4.11 (intel) I'm able to export as an ogg
movie, however the resultant file has problems with audio on

Producing oggs with XiphQT - testers needed!
Dear all,
As the next version of XiphQT is mostly ready, I thought it could use
some more wide pre-release testing.
The major change since last release is the addition of Ogg exporter
and Vorbis and Theora encoders. Any feedback on how this new
functionality performs (or doesn't!) with audio/video
editing/producing software will really help. Also, comments and
suggestions on the work of

XiphQT pre-release builds
Hi,
I've just built fresh binaries of XiphQT - with trunks of Xiph libs
and FLAC from the end of the last year. Code-wise there are few
changes in the components since the last release: a memory leak fixed
and the recently reported issue with iMovie'08 solved.
I'd appreciate any help testing, especially on PPC as I don't have
access to that architecture anymore. You can find the

archive of legacy oggenc/oggenc2 encoders for windows?
Thanks for all the info - I was able to find exactly what I was looking for
here:
http://codecs.ex-sounds.net/ogg/vorbis/oggenc/
As for what I'm up to, I have a memory-limited port of the Tremor Vorbis
decoder that I want to test on some older vorbis encoders for backwards
compatibility purposes. Nothing too nefarious. ;)

XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead?
Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X?

XiphQT
Not sure where to file bugs against XiphQT...
I have noticed that Theora encoded videos played through Quicktime (on
Mac) using XiphQT are incorrectly reproducing the color of the video,
and appear washed out. The same videos can be played via VLC and Firefox
and are true to the original - so I don't believe it's a problem with
the videos themselves or the encoding.
I'm observing

XiphQT Installer for Microsoft Windows Created
In the greatest tradition of Next > Next > Next > Next > Next > Next,
the Xiph.Org Foundation releases an Installer for the Xiph Quicktime
Components under Windows.
Before I upload it to //xiph.org I would appreciate if someone would
test it for me. The implementation is simple, and I did test it, but
better safe than sorry.

"Live-CD" with Firefox + XiphQT?
Hy,
I want to create a CD-ROM which includes Firefox 1.5.0.7 for MacOS X and is intended to be run solely on an intel-based Mac. It should already come with the XiphQT-plugin so that no installtion is needed.
I want to be able to put the CD-ROM into the drive, double-click on "start-MacOS-Firefox.app" and have a fully operational Firefox with XiphQT-support - no matter if Firefox or

XiphQT and QuickTime X
I've just finished installing Apple's shiny new Mac OS X version 10.6
(aka "Snow Leopard.") One of the very first things I did was place
XiphQT 0.1.9 into /Library/Components. It appears that it doesn't work
with the new QuickTime X: The .ogg and .ogv files are grayed out in
the Open File dialog box and cannot be selected. Right-clicking on the
file, selecting Open With, and

XiphQT with Thusnelda?
I noticed that the latest release of XiphQT predates the release of Theora 1.1.
What's the situation with a release of XiphQT with the Theora 1.1 encoder in it? Is such a release planned?
(With all this iPad vs. Open Video discussion going on, it would be so much easier to advocate Theora if Mac-using content creators could simply install a pre-built binary and get an up-to-date Theora

Installation of XiphQT component in Snow Leopard
Hi
I installed the XiphQT component into a folder I made called
"Components" inside my user "Library" folder.
So far I can report it works and I have been able to play an ogg
embedded audio file in a web page using QT.
I was just wondering if the XiphQT component would still work if
installed into the QuickTime folder in the main Library folder where

trouble building XiphQT
Hi all.
Maybe there's a document about the build procedure that I overlooked;
if so, please let me know. Meanwhile, I'm having trouble getting this
thing to build.
At first I saw missing-header complaints, so I checked the entire
trunk out of the repository to make sure I have everything.
After correcting the base SDK in each Xcode project (they're all set
to the OS 10.4 SDK, which

archive of legacy oggenc/oggenc2 encoders for windows?
I think if you are only interested in applications, your best bet for
theora encoders is probably ffmpeg2theora, which I believe was used
for most encoding tasks in past years. Note that it uses libtheora
directly, while plain ffmpeg has its own theora encoder. The Theora
files that ffmpeg used to create until recently were not of great
quality, so I hope there aren't that many of those files
