Trouble installing with Nvidia card
Hi all, I'm having trouble doing a fresh install of CentOS 7.3. I'm using the DVD installer ISO, burned to a USB flash drive. The system is a Supermicro 7048 with four Nvidia Titan Xp GPUs, and I have the monitor connected to the first GPU. In the BIOS, VGA priority is set to Offboard, so I am seeing POST messages (good). The CentOS installer begins and shows a few messages on my

FW: Microsoft buys Tellme
http://deancollinsblog.blogspot.com/2007/03/microsoft-buys-tellme.html I thought I would email this post I made on my blog from yesterday as a way of stimulating discussion on this. It looks like the Asterisk community is no closer to getting a Pre-Paid 'Offboard Speech Recognition Processing' SIP gateway than ever. I've left the

Trouble installing with Nvidia card
> > Why? 7.5.1804 has been out since May of this year. You're going to > end up downloading a ton of updates the first time. > For a specialized software, we have to wait for the developers to certify each new OS. They are still recommending 7.3. One reason in particular is that 7.5 has a fix for Meltdown and Spectre, which known to reduce performance. This machine will be

Future WinCE IP Phone

The video is at: http://channel9.msdn.com The video in question is an interview with Mike Hall titled "Windows CE and Windows Embedded Lab Tour". The clip dealing with the VOIP phone is right at the start so you don't need to watch the whole thing (although there is some

OGG decoding/multi-channel mixing
Hi All, Currently I am investigating how interesting OGG is for me. The most important requirements are: - Decoding on embedded hardware, ARM7 or ARM9. - Mixing multiple audio streams/files on embedded hardware First of all how difficult is it to decode OGG on an ARM7/9 processor? I read that OGG decoding needs floating point support? Secondly I would like to know how many MIPS are needed to

Compatibility regression after migrating to 64 bit Linux
I used to use Wine (from 0.9.x to 1.1.x) on ArchLinux 32 bits to run a Brazilian Dictionary called Houaiss [1], and it worked almost flawlessly. But then I got a new computer and installed Ubuntu 64 bits on it, and now Houaiss' interface is unreadable (same Windows software, not a 64 bits version). I'll provide further information below, and I'd like to know if it's a 64 bits

EF & AF filters with HTB
Hello all, Please could someone help me with this, I have been trying for days to get this to work. I would like to have BE, AF & EF classes with HTB qdisc. I can''t find any scripts online where this has been done. If I enable this filter: #tc filter add dev eth0 parent 2:0 protocol ip prio 1 \ #tcindex mask 0xf0 shift 4 pass_on then BE & AF classification seems to be fine but

zfs send/receive and compression
Is there a mechanism by which you can perform a zfs send | zfs receive and not have the data uncompressed and recompressed at the other end? I have a gzip-9 compressed filesystem that I want to backup to a remote system and would prefer not to have to recompress everything again at such great computation expense. If this doesn''t exist, how would one go about creating an RFE for

playback problems with oppo BDP-95
Thanks for bringing up this aspect, Nicholas. I seem to recall that specific hardware has a problem with certain compression levels, but I cannot recall whether that was limited to just encoding, or decoding as well. It could very well be true that I am conflating my vague memory of encoder limitations with decoder limitations. It does seem to be that the oppo BDP-95 is exhibiting
