vorbis_synthesis_init
Hello All, I'm trying to decode Vorbis data without using Ogg. My program successfully writes out Vorbis data, but I'm having trouble reading it back in again. I've based my code off how libfishsound worked, but am having AV's on the call to vorbis_synthesis_init. I call vorbis_synthesis_init when 2 headers have been read. I allocate the vorbis_info and the DSP structure before

R CMD INSTALL fails if cd prints stuff to stdout ... (PR#8363)
--Boundary_(ID_erFAa+o6kWefQxXf6GD2RA) Content-type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-disposition: inline Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Dear all, I came across puzzling behaviour of R CMD INSTALL, which I tracked down to the fact that in some shells (or in some user customizations of them), the cd command prints out the new directory. As a result, the $pkgs variable gets a

XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead? Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X? See: [theora]

"Live-CD" with Firefox + XiphQT?
Hy, I want to create a CD-ROM which includes Firefox 1.5.0.7 for MacOS X and is intended to be run solely on an intel-based Mac. It should already come with the XiphQT-plugin so that no installtion is needed. I want to be able to put the CD-ROM into the drive, double-click on "start-MacOS-Firefox.app" and have a fully operational Firefox with XiphQT-support - no matter if Firefox or

(PR#8363) R CMD INSTALL fails if cd prints stuff to stdout
What shells are these? You don't give an example that causes trouble, and in particular no way to reproduce this. The behaviour you describe is prohibited by the POSIX standard, so the problem would appear to be with the unnamed shell. I can see how it could happen if a user redefines 'cd', but then a user could redefine all the commands in his OS and we have to make some

XiphQT
Not sure where to file bugs against XiphQT... I have noticed that Theora encoded videos played through Quicktime (on Mac) using XiphQT are incorrectly reproducing the color of the video, and appear washed out. The same videos can be played via VLC and Firefox and are true to the original - so I don't believe it's a problem with the videos themselves or the encoding. I'm observing

Vorbis primitive API examples (LONG)
Okay, how do I drop a changeset/patchset/tag for you folks from SVN? At this point, I have written three examples of how to use the basics of the ogg streaming and decoding in Tremor. I heartily welcome any suggestions, improvements and corrections that you can point out in the code. The examples required me to make some small modifications to the main tremor library. However, the changes

XiphQT and OSX 10.9
Hi, After running 10.9 for a while, I noticed iTunes would no longer play my ogg files. I found a workaround suggesting that I force iTunes to run in 32 bit mode. After doing this, iTunes informs me that it can only be run in 64 bit mode. The reason appears to be that in 10.9, Quicktime APIs have been largely deprecated. Before I realized that was the cause, I was trying to build 64 bit

Fwd: [Xiph] #1698: XiphQT for Mac would need a (silent) installer
hello theora lovers! I opened few weeks ago this issue on Xiph tracker and I understand that there are higher priority issues to dela with before creating an installer. However, it could be a Blocker for my theora HTML5 video deployement on some websites, I explain : With the new beta State of Chrome frame for IE, IE is no more a problem (at least if you have admin rights) , So the 40% IE

Playing Theora video in Keynote on MacOS X
Hi all, I have XiphQT installed and have some Ogg theora videos I would like to play in Apple's Keynote presentation software. They play fine in iTunes using XiphQT but don't work in Keynote. I have each video in two formats: (1) in a ".ogg" file, and (2) in a ".mov" file created by opening the ".ogg" file in QuickTime Pro and saving it as a

OS X FLAC Frameworks + 5.1 channel order
Hi, First - XiphQT uses libFLAC and libFLAC++, which are built as Mac-specific Framework bundles (libs + public API headers), which in turn are distributed with binary XiphQT releases, or framework binaries can be downloaded separately. As I don't have access to the FLAC source repository, the Xcode build files can be found on: http://people.xiph.org/~arek/snapshots/flac-osx-build.tgz if you
