IAX / Firefly handshake problem
I had a working 1.0.9 asterisk installation and tried to get a Firefly IAX
phone to register, but it was failing. I upgraded to asterisk 1.2.5 and the
PBX is working fine, but the IAX phone still won't connect. Below is my
iax.conf and the output from setting iax2 debug while the phone tries to
connect. Could somebody please give me some pointers? This doesn't seem to
be a normal

ssh-agent man page misformatted with ./configure --with-mantype=man
I've noticed in 5.4p1 and 5.5p1 that the man page for ssh-agent is misformatted
when using --with-mantype=man.
In DESCRIPTION, all text after -t life is indented. The line that begins "If a
commandline is given..." looks as if it's part of the -t option.

Astribank-8BRI
Hello,
I'm in the process of building an Asterisk machine and need 5 or 6
BRI-Channels. I was looking for the beroNet and Junghans cards and
stumbled upon the Xorcom Astribank xBRI products.
Has anybody tried out the Astribank xBRI-Channel Banks? Are they
production ready or should I go with a beroNet BN8S0 or JUNGHANNS.NET
octoBRI ISDN?
Thanks in advance,
Lars

Low bitrate high-band coding...
Hi,
I'd like to contribute to Vorbis and I think this may be of some interest for
low bitrate coding. I have been experimenting with low bit-rate coding for the
high-band (11 kHz to 22 kHz) and, though I haven't yet started quantizing my
coefficients (a gain and an LPC filter), I expect to be able to approximate the
whole 11-22 kHz band with around 1000 bits/s per channel (maybe even 500

errata on pan.zipcon.net
The Italian Harpsichord files were not up as claimed to be --they were the
wrong files. They were replaced Dec 14 at 14.00 PST with the correct ones
including track title. My apologies. Also ogg files were missing for several
recordings. They have been added.
To do yet: record jacket info and more recordings.
We welcome cooments and suggestions.

RC3: I'm impressed
SUMMARY
I'm impressed.
RC3 withstood anything I could throw at it. "-q 3" is really Vorbis' sweet
spot, almost perfect, and "-q 0" is eminently usable, with only marginal
defects for normal usage.
Already sent money, will do that again.

I spent at least 40 hours in the last week testing RC3. I selected a few
fragments from pop, classic and jazz CDs in my

Sieve puts Reference:-Headers into Vacation-Reply
Hey,
I have an issue with misformatted vacation emails. Part of the initial mail
ends up in the vacation response and the headers of the vacation response
end up in the body. Which also leads to the wrong charset being used by
(some) MUAs. (Should be utf-8 but the inital mal was ascii only).
I think I narrowed the trigger of the bug down to a long Reference: header
line. It only happens if the

Per-directory "create mask"?
Hi all
Please CC me any replies.
I am currently running samba 2.2.8a under Slackware 8.1 (kernel 2.4.18) to
provide fileserver services to a number of windows 2000 boxes via a single
"resources" share. One of the things stored in this share is a collection
of Protel libraries used in electronic circuit design.
The problem is that protel implements its own access control mechanism for

Syslinux/isolinux: is this possible?
Hello Peter
I know very little (currently) about the BIOS interfaces/APIs available at
boot time except that most of them are buggy to some extent. However, I
have had an idea regarding another way to boot Linux and wanted to run it
past you.
As you'd be aware, many of the distributions now require multiple floppies
to hold their initial root fs to be used during installation. I was

mysql Date field not getting set correctly
I created a simple test to try and pinpoint my problem but nothing seems
clear to me.
I created a Thing model with fields { id (INT), date (DATE) }
now when I try to create a new "thing" the date does not get stored, and
no errors are reported.
@myNewThing = Thing.new(:date => "2006-08-07")
@myNewThing.save
this results in a new record with a date of
