How to rotate PHP error log - since it belongs to apache
Hello, I'm using CentOS 6.2 with the stock rpm php-5.3.3-3.el6_2.8.x86_64 and the following /etc/php.ini file: error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED display_errors = Off error_log = /var/log/php/php_errors.log and that file is very useful for me because I have many custom PHP-scripts at my site, but that file keeps growing too... :-) So my question is for how to rotate it (esp.

Running Songbird in Wine.
I'm currently running Ubuntu 10.04 and have installed Songbird for windows. When I connect my archos mp3 player, Ubuntu finds it right away but Songbird can't see it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Compiling libspeex for Blackfin
Hi Jean, First, I would like to thank for the prompt reply. Basically, what I have to do is to run a speex coder/decoder on a Blackfin processor, on top of the microC/OS II kernel. I wish I could use uclinux, since I'm familiar with Linux, but this doesn't depend on me. You said that the assembly code is written for gcc, not for VisualDSP++. Furthermore, in the link you sent me, the

unable to compile speex-1.1.10
Dear all, I'm Arun, new in this group. and newbie in Linux also. I am working on linphone and I want to compile linphone, but before that I want to compile speex-1.1.10 for uClinux using bfin-gcc. I used these three files : uClinux-dist-2005R3.tar.bz2 bfin-gcc-3.4-2005R3.1.tar.gz speex-1.1.10.tar I sucessfully compiled and installed bfin-gcc, and

Where are the Portable Devices at vorbis.com ?
Hi Vorbis-ers, It has been a while since I have checked out the Ogg Vorbis resources. http://vorbis.com is looking great! It is a shame though that portable (and other devices) that support Ogg Vorbis well are not celebrated on the home page. I know there is an extensive list at http://wiki.xiph.org/index.php/PortablePlayers, but it is overwhelming in its completeness, and may not be immediately

Blackfin inline assembler and VisualDSP++ toolchain
Hi Jean-Marc I'm trying to integrate your speex codec on our custom Blackfin board. The board is not uCLinux compatible and there is no chance that it will ever be. I am using ADI-supplied VisualDSP++ IDE and corresponding toolchain. As long as I am compiling "C"-only version of the library everything is fine. VisualDSP++ produces working library. There is only one not so minor

OpenVPN + SIP configuration?
Hello I read a whole book on OpenVPN, but still can't figure how to configure the server + client so that the the client connects and sends SIP/RTP data through the tunnel. To get started, I'd rather use a shared key instead of X509 (certificates + keys). The server is running on a uClinux appliance, with /dev/net/tun, and OpenVPN is 2.0.9. The clients will be Windows hosts connecting

Files and directories created by WinXP client are read-only
My WinXP client creates files and directories that are writable only by the file owner, not by the group to which that user belongs. There must be something all-too-obvious that I am overlooking here, but I'll be darned if I can find it. The files and directories can be read just fine, but I can't write to them. Clues? Help? Commiseration? Thanks, Jay -- When we are planning for

Reducing RAM requirement of sshd
Hi All, I have ported OpenSSH on an embedded uClinux platform. My main concern is that sshd takes 1 MB if RAM while its in running state and for each incoming connection it eats up 1 mb ram again. I am looking for help in reducing RAM requirement for ssh daemon. Any comments ? Thanks in advance, Reema.

Problem with Blackfin assembly optimizations -- bug in fixed_bfin.h?
Hello everybody, I'm currently trying to run speex on the Blackfin (BF-537) STAMP evaluation board unter uCLinux. Using 1.2 beta 3, I encountered problems when activating the Blackfin assembler optimizations. Without optimizations for blackfin, i.e. calling ./configure --enable-fixed-point --host=bfin-uclinux everything seems to work fine. But when I add the --enable-blackfin-asm flag to

Dear R-users, I am using R 2.13.0 and rms 3.3-0 , but can not reproduce figure 7.8 of the handouts *Regression Modeling Strategies* ( http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/wiki/pub/Main/RmS/course2.pdf) by the following code. Compiling libspeex for Blackfin
Hi all, I'm trying to run speex on the Blackfin processor. I'm not familiar with programming/compiling/linking at all, but I guess the first thing I need is libspeex compiled for Blackfin, so that my program can use the library functions. I've downloaded the source files (version 1.1.10) from www.speex.org and I've been trying to compile libspeex from within VisualDSP++, but it

New version of rms package on CRAN
rms version 3.3-1 has been installed on CRAN. New features/bug fixes are below. * Added new example for anova.rms for making dot plots of partial R^2 of predictors * Defined logLik.ols (calls logLik.lm) * Fixed and cleaned up logLik.rms, AIC.rms * Fixed residuals.psm to allow other type= values used by residuals.survreg * Fixed Predict and survplot.rms to allow for case

New package: rms
This is to announce a new package rms on CRAN. rms goes along with my book Regression Modeling Strategies. The home page for rms is http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/rms, or go directly to http://biostat.mc.vanderbilt.edu/Rrms for information just about the software. rms is a re-write of the Design package that has improved graphics and that duplicates very little code in the survival

rms: getting adjusted R^2 from ols object
How can I extract the adjusted R^2 value from an ols object (using rms package)? library(rms) x <- rnorm(10) y <- x + rnorm(10) ols1 <- ols(y ~ x) Typing "ols1" displays adjusted R^2 among other things, but how can I assign it to a variable? I tried str(ols1) but couldn't see where to go from there. Thanks, Mark Seeto

plot methods for summary of rms objects
The integration of plot methods for various outputs from rms packages is a great appreciated aspect of the rms package. I particularly like to use: plot(summary(model)) for my own purposes, but... for publication/presentation I need to modify details like variable names, or the number of signficant digits used in the figure annotations. Is there a simple way to modify the plot inputs

showing ticks for censored data in survfit() in the rms package
The answer to this may be obvious, but I was wondering in the rms package and the survfit(), how you can plot the censored time points as ticks. Take for example, library(survival) library(rms) foo <- data.frame(Time=c(1,2,3,4,5,6,10), Status=c(1,1,0,0,1,1,1)) answer <- survfit(Surv(foo$Time, foo$Status==1) ~1) # this shows the censored time points as ticks at Time = 3 and 4 plot(answer)
