OGG validation tool?
Is there some tool for UN*X that basically checks if a file is a valid, intact, OGG file. I have had some bit rot and need to know what works and what doesn't, without having to listen through it all. -- Björn Lindström <bkhl@privat.utfors.se> Home page: http://hem.fyristorg.com/bkhl/ Blog: http://bkhl.livejournal.com/ Elektrubadur demo: http://hem.fyristorg.com/bkhl/elektrubadur/ ---

Ogg checksum thingie needed
I need some sort of utility to calculate a checksum of an Ogg file. Two differently encoded Ogg:s should give different checksums, but the same file with different tags should give the same result. (The serial number doesn't work here, obviously. I need something that is changed if a bit of the file is lost.) -- Björn Lindström <bkhl@elektrubadur.se> http://bkhl.elektrubadur.se/

vorbiscomment and UTF-8
Hi! I think it is supposed to save all the comments in UTF-8 encoding. But I think all files I write to my files with 'vorbiscomment -w file.ogg -c tag' are saved in standard ISO-8859-1(5). How can I change this? Thanks for help. Stefan --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a

Windows Server 2003 can't join samba PDC domain
Hello! I'm running samba 3.0.20 on Solaris as PDC. But I cannot add Windows Server 2003 clients to the domain. After authenticating as root, I get the following error message: "The parameter is incorrect." in Windows. The result is that the computer isn't added to the domain. :( Any ideas? Thanks. [PATCH] doc: fix out-of-tree build
It seems the mail you are referring to never made the list: it's not in the archives and not in my mailbox. Take a look here: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac-dev/2012-December/thread.html It's probably still waiting for moderation. Re-encoding Ogg Vorbis files?
I just got myself a portable Ogg player (Jens of Sweden MP-120). It turns out that it doesn't like to play Oggs I've encoded with the 1.0-rc versions of oggenc. Is it in any way possible to re-encode those with as a post-1.0 Ogg Vorbis file? (Without first decompressing them, of course.)

Question about volume level recording in Ogg Vorbis
Hi I recorded many hundred of CDs in Ogg Vorbis with exactly the same parameters. I can see very big difference of volume level from one CD to another when I play it onto my computer or my portable device (iRiver HP120). So, I have two questions : * Is the reason of this fact is that it's depends on the volume level at burning time of the original CD ? If not, what is the reason ? * Is

Target triple normalzation through the LLVM C API
Hello everyone, First of all, this is my first posting here, so feel free to tell me if I'm asking the wrong questions in the wrong place. I've discovered that the target triple normalization which used to be done at all times on sys::getDefaultTargetTriple() has been removed, due to the fact that most users of this function explicitly call Triple::normalize() on its result. This has

Reasons why I shouldn't use Asterisk?
It would seem an odd question, but I'm trying to put together a little presentation on 'Why Asterisk?' and need to list Pros and Cons.... I've got plenty of Pros (including the availability of commercial support), but the only Con I can think of is 'Relatively few installations worldwide' Can anyone think of any others? Cheeres, Gavin.

Trouble selecting network interface by port
I have a connection to the Internet (on eth1), and over this I also have a PPTP tunnel set up (on ppp0). Temporarily I use the (slower) PPTP tunnel for everything, but I really just have to use it for some specific purposes, which are distinguishable by port. So, I want to direct only some specific ports to ppp0, using eth1 for the rest. I have tried following the instructions on

Bug: Environment vars are changed before use (locale LANG, LC_*)
Hi I am using OpenSSH_6.2p2 Ubuntu-6ubuntu0.1, OpenSSL 1.0.1e 11 Feb 2013 on a Ubuntu 13.10 release for access to various kinds of systems. This recent Ubuntu OS insists on standard conforming locales, i.e. de_DE.UTF-8 instead of de_DE.utf8 as in the previous release. When I am using SSH to communicate with another system not being able to process the standard conformant setting (in my case

[PATCH] don't always call setlocale() on Windows
Windows (MSVC, MinGW) version of setlocale don't care about LC_* environment variables. For example, flac cannot pass the test for --until and --skip options the script calls it with --skip=0:01.1001 and it expects decimal comma (--skip=0:01,1001) on my system. One solution is to write a local version of strtod that always accepts both decimal comma and decimal point. Another solution is not

libflac++ reading vorbis metadata
I'm trying to use libFLAC++ v1.1.2, to read Song information (like artist, trackname etc..). So.. I read metadata from file FLAC::Metadata::get_streaminfo("somefile.flac", infosik); and It's ok - no error, then I read vorbis info: FLAC::Metadata::VorbisComment vorbis_kom(infosik); int number_of_comments = vorbis_kom.get_num_comments(); and after that I have
