[PATCH] theora/{Makefile.am,autogen.sh}
the attached patch against current svn brings autogen.sh in line with
that in ogg/, and updates Makefile.am appropriately.
(needed to build on os x and probably elsewhere)

[PATCH] autogen.sh : detect automake-1.10 correctly
Josh,
Macports on OSX ships with automake-1.10 and the current autogen.sh
detects 1.10 as an invalid version of automake.
The following patch (snarfed from autogen.sh from libvorbis) fixes
that.
Once that is fixed there are still some other issues that need fixing
for automake-1.10.
Cheers,
Erik

[PATCH 2/5] autogen.sh: replace this by a simple call to autoreconf
The autoreconf tool is provided by autoconf to do what custom
autogen.sh scripts in many projects used to do. Only it is more
robust and widely tested. It has been available for several years,
too. No reason to rely on custom code for this.

[PATCH 0/5] update build system
This patch series modernizes various aspects of the autotools
based build system. There is a lot more that could and should be
done, but I tried to stay conservative for now and just resolve
some of the most obvious issues.

configure: replace XIPH_C_FIND_ENDIAN by AC_C_BIGENDIAN

I've been wanting to build the trunk since Arjen added the powerpanel

Strange autotools check order in autogen.sh
for am in automake-$AM_NEEDED automake$AM_NEEDED \
automake automake-1.7 automake-1.8 automake-1.9 automake-1.10; do
This code makes it check for automake-1.7 (AM_NEEDED evaluates to 1.7),
then automake (unversioned wrapper), then 1.7 (again), 1.8, 1.9 and then
1.10
1) Why the check is generally ascending? Isn't it better use the most
recent version that is known to work instead of

Patch: ioloop using kqueue/kevent for FreeBSD
Hi,
I would like to submit the attached patch. It implements IO loop using
FreeBSD's kqueue/kevent syscalls. It is based on snapshot of CVS HEAD as of
2005-12-12.
I could only give it limited testing on FreeBSD 5.4 but it works fine so far.

dovecot-sieve with FreeBSD
Hello,
I've a test system with postfix (SMTP), dovecot (IMAP only) and covecot-LDA (MDA) under FreeBSD-6.1. Currently everything works fine. But I wasn't able to install dovecot-sieve from the CVS. Does anyone has a small documentation howto install dovecot-sieve on FreeBSD.
Thanks.

configure.ac
If you check developer.r-project.org, you'll find links to the scripts that we use for building releases and pre-releases of R. These are usually run on a Mac, but shouldn't require much change for Linux. In particular, notice this lead-in in the prerelease script:
rm -rf BUILD-dist
mkdir BUILD-dist
cd R
aclocal -I m4
autoconf
cd ../BUILD-dist

configure.ac
Hi,
Just a quick mail to mention that I cannot generate a new configure script
using autoconf or autoreconf. I had edited the configure.ac and thought ...
"oh, that's my fault", but then I tried it on R-patched and R-3.4.1 without
touching configure.ac and had the same problems.
The "building R packages" documentation seems to suggest that "autoconf"

AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR
Charles,
When running autoreconf in the trunk, I get a couple of additional
files since I upgraded to openSUSE 11.1. Most likely, this is due to a
newer version of the auto(whatever) tools that are used. Or I never
looked at this more closely before.

Problems building icecast2
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello!
Thanks for the help in my last post. I checkout icecast and libshout
from CVS and now I have some problems building icecast.
I read the HACKME file and I follow the instructions but when run
"autogen.sh" it returns a serial of errors concerning to
"libtoolize". I suppose this library is missing, but I can't locate
it.

issues/workarounds to build dovecot on OSX
hi all,
a few notes/issues re: building dovecot on OSX.
first, after DL of cvs-head,
% autogen.sh
reports:
autogen.sh: line 2: libtoolize: command not found
o OSX, 'libtoolize' has been sed'd to glibtoolize.
couple of ways to deal with this:
(a) edit in autogen.sh
aclocal
--- libtoolize --force
+++ glibtoolize --force
automake --add-missing
autoheader
autoconf

[FTS Xapian] Beta release
I tried to combined it, the "autoreconf" errors are solved
Now, when I type "make install", the lib is not pushed into dovecot
folder, but somewhere in /usr/local/...
How to adjust this to have it arriving in the proper folder ?
