Vorbis ACM codec
Is the Vorbis ACM codec still being maintained?
Then I encode an avi with Vorbis audio, the sound gets out of sync
after a while no matter what I try.

ACM codec
Hello everyone,
I was just browsing through some video capturing websites/forums and saw some
people complain that there was no lossless codec available to encode audio in
AVI files. I thought that FLAC would have one but it doesn't seem to be the case.
As it's a popular demand (now that hard drives are inexpensive, people can
record hours of video/audio without any loss and then

Thanks for your hacked up instcodec source code. I installed the 16.8
kbit/s 16kHz Q5 mode and it

ACM stands for Audio Codec Manager. It's a DirectShow SDK's interface.

ACM codec?
Hi,
Is there a plan to make a FLAC ACM codec? Then we could use FLAC together
with an open source lossless video codec like Huffyuv
(http://www.math.berkeley.edu/~benrg/huffyuv.html).

Windows ACM codec status
What is the status of the vorbis ACM codec? I certainly hope I am not the
only one with a vested interest in its development and there's been no
talk of its status on the list lately.

Low bitrate was the design goal, not Netmeeting compatibility ;)
Padding loss occurs because Speex encodes frames that do not end on
byte boundaries. If you force each Speex frame to be byte

Setting ACLs
This is possibly the dumbest question I have asked ever, but how do you
set ACLs on files within a ZFS filesystem?
Trying to use setfacl(1) diverts me to the acl(5) manpage; well, I know
that I need to use NFSv4 style ACLs, but where is the utility to do so?
This is on Solaris 10 Update 2.
Thanks,
Ceri

ACM Format Tag for Speex Audio
Hi,
As a potential user of the Speex ACMs and DirectShow filters to come I am also
curious about how many ACM codecs for Speex there are under development right now.
Also, the WAVEFORMATEX structure must be planned so that it is extensible, with
backward-compatibility, without having to ring back Microsoft for further
WAVE_FORMAT tags. For instance, it is a good idea to put a flexible sub-format

GSM 6.10 codec & ACM
*I have a Ham Radio program, named CQ100, it works fine using WINDOZE,
but when I installed the same program on my linux system everything
works except there is no-audio I'am using Ubuntu 7.10 linux...
The author told me that windoze uses GSM 6.10 codec, plus ACM audio
compression manager, these are built-in...
So by anychance does anyone know of a program that one can get to use on

Re: ACM codec
Mr. Blum,
I had to make some assumptions writing the driver, because I had no previous
experience writing ACM drivers. I did what I could based in Microsoft's
documentation but, of course, I made same mistakes. I had no time to test
the code I wrote yet and will not in the next 2 weeks. All I can tell you
now is about what I did and about my sources. So, considering your
enthusiasm, I suggest

acm codec
does there exist anywhere a useful source version of an ACM for vorbis
audio? I've seen the binary one somewhere in Japan, and there's an
abandoned project at SourceForge, but I'm having a helluva time building
it.
I know all the caveats about CBR vs. VBR, ACM/AVI problems etc. but I need
it anyway.
Thanks in advance -

Speex ACM codec released on www.openacm.org
I am glad to announce the BETA release of the Speex ACM codec.
It is based on the Speex 1.0.1 codec release.
An ACM codec enables Windows to create and play back WAVE files
containing Speex content. It might also be useful for use with
Netmeeting (after some registry hacking. Not tested yet.).
I also provide a portable playback tool (speexdec_wav) that
handles both the Ogg and WAVE containers.

[patch] LOCKED_PASSWD_STRING for FreeBSD
Hi,
I dare to send you this very small patch that defines
LOCKED_PASSWD_STRING for the FreeBSD operating system.
The manpage had been unclear about this for a long time, up to
5.x days. Since 6.x, it has been made clearer, and thanks
to Ceri Davies who highlighted this feature in OpenSSH, I
made this patch.
I hope this will reach OpenSSH source tree. This is not a big
deal and I would add
