a few more questions...
Hello everyone, I sent the last email prematurely - I had a few more questions. I don't wish to start a holy war here, but are there certain OSs / Distros that are preferred for running very busy icecast servers? We're a Solaris shop currently, but don't mind using linux or BSD if that would make things easier. I see there is a Fedora Core RPM on the icecast page - does that

Developement speex; harmonic booster
An idea would be like for WMA 9 lower bitrates (32-42-48Kbps) to use a 'crystallizer'; which is basically a harmonics booster focussed at transposing sharp tones some octaves higher. Eg: A file has been recorded @ 20khz computer (or 10khz real life) to preserve space. While playing back the file sounds a bit mushy, almost as if someone was speaking through a cardboard wall. The higher

Recent inability to view long filenames stored with scp via samba mount
Greetings Samba team, It has been a long time since I needed to ask a Samba technical question. Server and workstation are both running the latest Samba packages via Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. I recently applied the security updates... actually that was yesterday I applied them. > samba (2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.16.04.23) xenial-security; urgency=medium > > * SECURITY UPDATE: client code can

Recording piano and voice
The last time I wanted to record a voice announcement on my computer was a few years back, and as I recall I hooked up my Microsoft Lifechat headset and used Audacity to do the recording. Now I want to record a "recitation", which consists of me playing my piano and talking over it. I have a Casio CDP-230 digital piano but I've never tried hooking it up to my computer and making a

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Thanks Andy, helpful as always! 1 is a possibility, but not ideal for us. Could you elaborate a little on 3? I don't really know what a jump stub is, but am guessing it's a kind of "alternative symbol" which would just act as a middle man to invoke the "real" symbol in the static library. If that's the case, I can think of a way to implement it for specific

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Some time ago I posted here regarding a relocation overflow on Windows (among other things), but the issue disappeared and so the thread got left. I've started this new thread because a) I didn't want to necro the old one and b) it felt like its own. I've now encountered the issue again and am noting down all the information I can get about it whilst it's happening. The issues is

AAH not getting IP address, likely to be network card?
Hi all, We use AAH to run our office telecoms registered with two Sipgate accounts. Today, Sipgate appeared to have had problems with their server with oneway audio on every call. In order to cause the Sipgate message service to pick up in stead of our AAH box, I simply unplugged the network cable. We now have problems where AAH does not seem to access the network. I plugged the network cable
