OGG validation tool?
Is there some tool for UN*X that basically checks if a file is a
valid, intact, OGG file. I have had some bit rot and need to know what
works and what doesn't, without having to listen through it all.

Target triple normalzation through the LLVM C API
Hello everyone,
First of all, this is my first posting here, so feel free to tell me if I'm asking the wrong questions in the wrong place.
I've discovered that the target triple normalization which used to be done at all times on sys::getDefaultTargetTriple() has been removed, due to the fact that most users of this function explicitly call Triple::normalize() on its result. This has

Trouble selecting network interface by port
I have a connection to the Internet (on eth1), and over this I also
have a PPTP tunnel set up (on ppp0). Temporarily I use the (slower)
PPTP tunnel for everything, but I really just have to use it for some
specific purposes, which are distinguishable by port.
So, I want to direct only some specific ports to ppp0, using eth1 for
the rest.
I have tried following the instructions on

Hi everyone,
Is it possible not to notify error with puppet-lint when "trailing
whitespace" are found in a comment line?
Just asking.

Renice ogg123
I'm thinking of writing some sort of SUID wrapper for ogg123 that will
always run it at maximum priority for use with mpg123.el on my Linux
system.
I just wanted to check first that I am not duplicating efforts
here. Has anyone already written a tool like this?

data.frame query
Hi All,
Apologies for the simplicity of my question, but I would be grateful for any
advice. Thanks
I'm trying to put the output from a for loop into a data frame, however I
have not been successful.
The steps I have taken are:
*R-code:*
>for (k in 1:(nt-1-n0) ){
> n<- n0-1+k
> lam=n/nt
> Q=x[n]
> output1<-data.frame(cbind(k,n,lam,Q))
> output1

Tripp-Lite USB constantlly disconnecting.
Soon as I get back to that computer I will let you know which kernel
version. Both were just recently installed, Fedora was installed
specifically for this actually, though updates have been applied.
I've tried it with other USB ports already across 5 different machines.
I've also swapped out the USB cable for another one that I knew worked fine.
I'll see what I can do about

Also, Barry Skrypnyk mentioned that Fedora was one of the Linux distributions that Tripp Lite claims to support. I recommend

Charles,

The CentOS minimal install had different print statements and a broadcast
message whenever the UPS was disconnected. The broadcast isn't really
important. Below are the differences I pasted though I'm not sure if they
are important, I just noticed they were different. Particularly the bolded
parts which I think you alluded to in your email about

rolling sum (like in Rmetrics package)
Hello, I'm new to R and would like to know how to create a vector of "rolling
sums". (I have seen the Rmetrics package and the rollMean function and I
would like to do the same thing except Sum instead of Mean.) I imagine
someone has done this, I just can't find it anywhere.
Example:
x <- somevector #where x is 'n' entries long
#what I would like to do is:

A question about plots and lists in functions
R-helpers:
I tried googling and couldn't find anything.
I have a function I am sourcing into R that does some calculations to
generate a simulated dataset. I currently have a a list set up to store
the outputs from the function and a plot of one of them (a set of
ordered pairs) like this:
foo<-function(x,y,z){
## do some work here ##
list(x=x,y=y,z=z,output1=output1,output2=output2,

Re: [Nemo-devel] nuts status page
Adam: Thanks for putting up this page. But something is wrong. In
particular, our Powerware 9135 is a three phase UPS system with THREE 480
volt outputs. So the displayed voltage is not correct -- in fact there
should really be THREE voltages displayed, all around 480v.
Nut developers: I am copying the NUT mailing list to see if anyone can
suggest how to fix this. NUT developers, see the

CTDB NFS setup?
Hello,
I try to set up a clustered samba server (on Novell SLES11SP2) based
upon CTDB and NFS. My problem is that I do not yet understand the
structure of the setup when using NFS.
I followed the documentation in
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/CTDB_Setup#Setting_up_CTDB_for_clustered_NFS
As far as I understand this documentation, it should be possible to set
up a samba cluster say having 3

If you run lsusb several times, does it still work? The exact output of lsusb isn't as important as whether anything gets logged by the kernel. Running lsusb shouldn't cause any extra kernel messages such as
