Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

FLAC Plug-in for Windows Media Player?
I was wondering if there is a FLAC plugin for Windows Media Player? Just from doing web-searches, it doesn't look like there is, at least as far as I can tell. So, if there isn't a plug-in for WMP, well, why isn't there? And is there anyone working on one? I'm a programmer, though I've never done any WMP programming. But, I would think it wouldn't be too hard to do a

Windows Media Player Crashes
I installed windows media player 9 with winetricks. It worked but no sound. I tried downloading and installing WMP10 and now it will briefly open like 2 secs and then disappear. It does this every time i try to open. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling WMP9 but it also does this open and crash now. I am using Ubuntu 10.10 and was using wine 1.3 but went back to 1.2 thinking that may have

Winamp vorbis crash
Hi! ( I am sending this also to vorbis@xiph.org, because Peters homepage at http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ is ... dead, and I am not sure what his email address is ) I have a ( more than probably corrupt ) ogg/vorbis file that makes winamp lock up. If I drag&drop the file on winamp, the position slider will start flashing at the leftmost position and winamp does not respond to any user input

Alternative to windows media player?
Hi, I'm installing Wine for the first time on my Mac through MacPorts. I've been reasonably successful and the application that I wanted to use, a training program, runs almost flawlessly :-) It does ask to use Windows Media Player and I did install WMP9 and this installed fine and the application does play the videos. However, these are thumbnail sized. While this isn't a big deal,

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I was under the impression that Tobias's Direct Show filters would allow Windows Media player to play Ogg Vorbis streams, but after testing it here, apparently it doesn't. Does anyone know if there is anyway of making WMP play vorbis streams? The company I'm involved with who will be creating thousands of internet stations will most likely need WMP to play the streams, since it is

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I would be in the same ballpark as you, Ross. We are looking at icecast2/ices as a replacement for our RealAudio streams, as the licenses we have will expire VERY soon, and we frankly don't have the money to go dump on new ones. We're looking at serving literally thousands of listeners, most of which have RealPlayer installed at home or at work, but have never heard or played with WinAmp,

Windows Media under Wine?
Hello folks! First of all, I want to say that I am very statisfied of the Wine project. It's a very nice program, very stable and and fast for most common applications and/or games and is developing very fast. As an ex-user of Cedega, i'm very happy to have my Windows-games and -apps running under Linux using free software (and without paying a cent :P). But there are still a few

OggVDS Where?
Where can I download the Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filter? I've heard, that there is a newer version than 0.9.9.5. There's a bug in either OggMux or Tobias' Filter which causes text to be erased after special (unicode?) characters in the chapter list. OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi! On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters" pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead ! But there is another vorbis DS project at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed. How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis

installation of WISO07 failed
hello, I use wine 1.0-rc3 on a SuSE Linux 10.3; trying to install WISO07, I was asked whether Windows Media Player 9 was available, and if not if it should be first installed; I decided to install WMP9 first, and got a list of errors and fixme (see here under); but the installation seemed to be ok; then I restarted the installation of WISO07 under wine but got a typical Windows error message

Windows Media Player
i had a similar problem few weeks ago. ices 0.4, icecast 2.2 wmp buffered endless. other players had no problem. solution for me was to explicitly set the type of stream in ices, e.g. "-t http" on the command line or in the config file. uno Karl Heyes: > On Mon, 2005-05-23 at 00:09, Jason wrote: > > I'm having a problem with WMP and icecast 2.2.0. OGGDS\OggSDK missing from svn
Hello, I am trying to get hold of the sources for the ogg vorbis DirectShow filter. I have checked out trunk\oggds, but the solution refers to projects under OggSDK, viz: "OggSDK\ogg\win32\ogg_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbis_dynamic.vcproj" "OggSDK\vorbis\win32\vorbisenc_dynamic.vcproj" ....which do not appear to be in subversion.
