xiph.org irc channels moving
Everybody, We're shutting down irc.xiph.org, which has hosted our official development and support IRC channels for the past couple of years. The main channels (#vorbis, #icecast, #theora, #positron) have moved to irc.freenode.net; please go there with your support or development questions. We'd also like to take this opportunity to refocus the channels on development and support.

[Video@Xiph] OGG Theora streaming
> > We are a online media company and are developing a new product that uses > theora for video streaming. We used your free Visonair OGG streamer to test > and it worked perfect. Visionair isn't ours (xiph's) directly. but it does use our libraries somewhere to do the actual encoding stuff. Layers upon layers :-) I know about it and have seen it used, but never worked

Xiph QT Theora Codec
Taking a look ahead at your QT (OSX version) work, you have Theora Encoding and Decoding on the list. This could be very beneficial as many times the only way to get a constant frame-rate out of QT is to export (and for DV video recorded in QT, this can be a large issue). Another major issue is that the video coming from DV (at least the sources I have used) is almost always

Bug in order function
Dear R-devel(opers), I wanted to draw your attention to a small problem with the order function in base. According to the documentation, radix sort supports different orders for each argument. This breaks when one of the arguments is an object. Please have a look to this stackoverflow question:

appropriate work-around for problems with a specific plot device (Rstudio)?
Dear r-devel-opers, I'm working on a package that does some plot-intensive work using the animation library. It turns out that this performs very badly in the RStudio plot device, which is the preferred IDE for our team. Our kludgy solution is to detect if the Rstudio device is running, and if so, open another plot device to do the rendering and close it when done:

OpenSSH with "resumable" functionality
I just stumbled across this thread on openssh-dev... Is there anywhere to track progress on this issue? It'd be a fantastic feature that would fix all sorts of problems I deal with regularly. You may also be interested in an article "Design and Implementation of a Mobile SSH Protocol", if you haven't seen it, since that team implemented (afaict) the same feature, whether or not

refocus on text_field
I have this textfield that appears as a drop down section whithin a form when a link is clicked - so it is it''s own partial. The idea is that a value can be entered within that field and then added to a list, but I need the cursor to re-focus on that text field so lots and lots of values can be inputed without having to reclick on that field everytime. When the form is submitted I clear

IRC channel #asterisk on irc.freenode.net
Hi all! It's great to start with "for dummies" question, but hey, we all have been human infants also =) Problem is, that I can not log on to this channel and I haven't found anything helpful during the past few days either. 1. The irc.freenode.net server gives me "Couldn't look up your hostname" and "No identd (auth) response" followed with
