What quad/octo BRI cards are best/stable for EuroISDN and Asterisk ?
Hi, I'm currently deciding on what card to pruchase for octo/quad BRI card to use with Asterisk on EuroISDN lines. I'm aware of at least two options (Junghanns or Beronet), but don't know how stable and well supported they are. Which ones are better supported ? Any experiences? Any advice ? How tos ? What would you buy ? Thanks in advance, Regards, Rob.

Archiving CDs w/ Flac on Linux (and subsequent re-encoding)
This must be possible; not sure how to do it yet. :) After facing the thought of going through my cd collection for a 3rd time for re-encoding, it occurred to me that I should just flac the whole CD and add a cue sheet, and then back up to DVDs. That way -next- time I need to re-encode to any format, I can handle ~1/20th the discs, compared to my whole cd collection. :) Wondering if

Buy CentOS CDs/DVDs in France?
Hi, I'd like to buy a set of CentOS CDs: 4CDs + 1 DVD. I'm on dialup, so this is the best solution for me. Plus, usually CDs from the store are better quality and tend to last longer in my humble experience. Normally I buy my CDs at ikarios.fr, but strangely, they only sell Centos 3.7 CDs. I mailed them about 2 weeks ago, but got no answer. Anyone knows where's the best place to get

Audio CDs not detected by winecfg, and dbpoweramp CD Ripper
Hi ! Audio CDs seem to be invisible to winecfg. I want to use dbpowerramp CD Ripper under Linux using WINE. CD Ripper doesn't see audio CDs, too. I am using WINE 1.3.33, Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. Ubuntu itself correctly identifies the CD drives, and the Audio CDs. The CD-Rom-Drives are internal ATAPI drives, and external Plextor drives connected via firewire. If I put _data_ CDs into those drives

Well, even if you do have a lot of Morton Feldman (currently my record for best compression ratio--about 0.25 or so), I

You don't actually lose the audio data, right, just the structure of the CD (which can probably be captured with cue files anyway)? I've ripped CDs with pregap audio before, and I'm pretty sure it's not getting

2.2-970422-RELENG on ftp.freebsd.org (and about SNAP CDs..)
As many of you probably already know, a "SNAP" release is built once per day on the RELENG_2_2 branch (where 2.2.1 came from and from where future 2.2.x releases will be derived) and put up for anonymous FTP at: ftp://releng22.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD Since this site isn't always the easiest to get to or mirror, I will also periodically copy "known good" release snapshots

Any experience with old Half Life CDs?
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience loading Half Life using old HL CDs instead of Steam. I have two old CDs - one form 1998 and one from 2000. I tried installing from the 2000 CD and it installed OK but when I tried to do the update from within the game it complained about lack of Internet access. When I start the game I get a black screen before the menu, and when I choose the New Game

CD Baby using FLAC to archive 40,000 CDs
Hey FLAC gang - Just thought you'd like to know CD Baby has switched to FLAC for archiving the 40,000 CDs we have in stock. Luckily HD space is down below $1/gig so we got a 6-terabyte RAID-5 box set up for about $7000. Got the FreeBSD boxes churning away night and day, ripping and archiving. I'll do a more formal press release for ya in a couple months as we're further along, but

isolinux and multisession cds
Is it possible for isolinux to support multisession cds? This would be handy for adding kernels to the cd w/o reburning the whole thing.

> Actually, I was more interested in how you set up the disk array. I think we just set up 3ware IDE raid cards with 200-gig drives, all on 1 PC for now (3/4 slots) and seems to work OK. No case would fit them so it's just sprawled out on a desk away from everything else with 4 power supplies powering the drives. When it's time to buy more disks then I'll have to set up a
