Freeware windows ogg audio CD burner?
Does such a thing exist?
I know I can convert the oggs to wavs and then to the audio CD, but it would
be good to do it in one step.
If there is nothing available right now, are there any freeware /
open-source products in the pipeline?
Thanks

Wine 1.2. - dBpoweramp won't recognise cdrom
Hi folks.
I am trying to get dBpoweramp 13.5 to work on wine 1.2.
It doesn't recognise my cdrom (/dev/sg3). I tried pretty much everything to get it working. I tried it also on different machines.
Here is the discussion and a more detailed description what I tried so far at the dBpoweramp forum:

Audio CDs not detected by winecfg, and dbpoweramp CD Ripper
Hi !
Audio CDs seem to be invisible to winecfg. I want to use dbpowerramp CD Ripper under Linux using WINE. CD Ripper doesn't see audio CDs, too.
I am using WINE 1.3.33, Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. Ubuntu itself correctly identifies the CD drives, and the Audio CDs. The CD-Rom-Drives are internal ATAPI drives, and external Plextor drives connected via firewire. If I put _data_ CDs into those drives

The CDex and Flac saga continues
Hello all,
I seem to be in a bit of a bind. Below is the email which I sent to the
list a while back. I wrote the vast majority of my CD collection to Flac
and checked them with the Flac test (the -t option of Flac), they played
fine and all seemed wonderful.
Sadly life is no longer roses and chocolates. Now as I come to rip the
whole lot to Vorbis files, Oggenc is spewing an error that the

CDex and Flac
Where did your rip files come from? Are they WAVE or AIFF? My hunch is that
technically bad files were created when you ripped your CDs. "data pad byte"
sounds like one of those things that is required in WAVE/AIFF, but many
application developers miss. As a result of the various errors out there, many
tools will accept bad audio files without complaint, others will point out

So I did

Everything installed.
But if I run the tests like

i get the following error message:

CDex and Flac
I am using CDex to encode my music into Flac. I am using the latest
version of Flac (with the frontend etc.) and sending the rips to it as
an 'external encoder' with the string:
-8 -o %2 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%b" -T "date=%y" -T
"tracknumber=%tn" -T "genre=%g" -
However, I am getting the below output/error with

CD ripper software
I've been having problems with Audiograbber, it got the track breaks all
wrong on a couple of CDs. I think it re-used the track breaks from the first
CD when reading subsequent CDs.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good CD ripper? I've also tried
Exact Audio Copy, but didn't get on with it very well.

form_for scope issue
Hi,
I am just ran into the problem that I cannot access helper methods from
within a form_for scope.
I do have something like the following:
<% form_for :potential_buyer, @potential_buyer, :url => { :action =>
"register" } do |f| %>
<%= render(:partial => ''register_form'', :locals => { :f => f } ) %>

BestPractise for monitoring change of model attribute?
Hello,
searched the docs, but didn?t found an answer to this question.
What is your approach for detecting the change of a model attribute?
If the attribute changes I want to fire some action.
I could do that with callbacks like after_save, but this would fire in
90% without the model attribute beeing changed.
Any hints are welcome!

Lag when playing freeware games
I switched to Linux recently and one of the biggest things I miss from Windows are freeware games such as Spelunky or Desktop Dungeons. So, I got Wine and downloaded those games, thinking they should run great and I'll be happy in Linux-Land.
The problem is they lag an ungodly amount, making them unplayable. Spelunky is a lot worse than Desktop Dungeons, which I guess I could suffer through,

Parked Call Viewer Application - Freeware
I have written an application (win32) to view parked calls. The reason
i wrote the code is because my GS doesnt support the system reading the
parked extension back to me after I park it.
This will allow you to view where the call is parked, the caller id and
when it was parked there.
You can configure it to show parked calls parked by anyone or set it to
a specific Device.
