dbPowerAMP, CDex / Re: Freeware windows ogg audio CD bur ner?
There's another nice Windows program in the pipeline: Feurio 2.0 (www.feurio.de) will have OggVorbis and MonkeyAudio support. Feurio is a all-in-one solution for CD ripping/burning specialized on audio CD. Feurio supports high speed, high-quality on-the-fly ripping and encoding, and on-the-fly decoding/burning, too. Feurio supports allmost all available CD writers, and there is a

Freeware windows ogg audio CD burner?
Does such a thing exist? I know I can convert the oggs to wavs and then to the audio CD, but it would be good to do it in one step. If there is nothing available right now, are there any freeware / open-source products in the pipeline? Thanks Iain<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> This email is confidential and intended for the

Wine 1.2. - dBpoweramp won't recognise cdrom
Hi folks. I am trying to get dBpoweramp 13.5 to work on wine 1.2. It doesn't recognise my cdrom (/dev/sg3). I tried pretty much everything to get it working. I tried it also on different machines. Here is the discussion and a more detailed description what I tried so far at the dBpoweramp forum: http://forum.dbpoweramp.com/showthread.php?p=101496#post101496 EAC ( in ASPI mode) is working

The CDex and Flac saga continues
Hello all, I seem to be in a bit of a bind. Below is the email which I sent to the list a while back. I wrote the vast majority of my CD collection to Flac and checked them with the Flac test (the -t option of Flac), they played fine and all seemed wonderful. Sadly life is no longer roses and chocolates. Now as I come to rip the whole lot to Vorbis files, Oggenc is spewing an error that the

CDex and Flac
Where did your rip files come from? Are they WAVE or AIFF? My hunch is that technically bad files were created when you ripped your CDs. "data pad byte" sounds like one of those things that is required in WAVE/AIFF, but many application developers miss. As a result of the various errors out there, many tools will accept bad audio files without complaint, others will point out

CDex and Flac
I am using CDex to encode my music into Flac. I am using the latest version of Flac (with the frontend etc.) and sending the rips to it as an 'external encoder' with the string: -8 -o %2 -T "artist=%a" -T "title=%t" -T "album=%b" -T "date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%tn" -T "genre=%g" - However, I am getting the below output/error with

Audio CDs not detected by winecfg, and dbpoweramp CD Ripper
Hi ! Audio CDs seem to be invisible to winecfg. I want to use dbpowerramp CD Ripper under Linux using WINE. CD Ripper doesn't see audio CDs, too. I am using WINE 1.3.33, Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. Ubuntu itself correctly identifies the CD drives, and the Audio CDs. The CD-Rom-Drives are internal ATAPI drives, and external Plextor drives connected via firewire. If I put _data_ CDs into those drives

uncompressed FLAC
What dbPowerAmp does is encapsulate the wav file into a FLAC container without actually compressing it. I guess it can be a bit arguable if you can technically call it a FLAC file :) It's like using "Store" mode in RAR, for instance. The idea behing this "uncompressed FLAC" is to give the FLAC tagging abilities to people who don't want to compress their files. But

DVD burner in WINE
I have a program, ProShow Producer, that works flawlessly in WINE, but I need to use a DVD burner in it. The program will only export the DVD slideshows to a disc, not an image, so I need to be able to use the burner or somehow fake it and save to an image. Does anyone know how I can either get the burner working or (ideally) fake the burner and create an image instead?? Thanks so much for the

Gnome CD/DVD Burner?
Hi all, Wondering if this might be a good item for either CentOSPlus or even Extras repository. I've been looking for a decent CD/DVD burner for Gnome.... at present I load up k3b (KDE app) and thus much of the KDE environment). Someone pointed me to GraveMan (http://www.nongnu.org/graveman/ ) which looks very good. All reports is that it's lean, mean and quite stable. Anyone else

Qanah being put on the back burner - for now
All - I owe a few people an apology. I jumped in to trying to start up a project at a time when my schedule just wouldn''t handle the load. I did not accurately estimate my time commitments for the coming months when I made the announcement of Qanah this past March. So, for now, Qanah is being put on the back burner. Note I didn''t say abandoned: just postponed. If you

Quality & ripping speed
Thanks for all the great responses on tools to use - I have Exact Audio Copy and CDex working very well, and I've been working out all the kinks. Two questions, one very Vorbis related, one not :) 1) I know people have asked many times "What quality should I use". Well, I want to ask it again but in a narrower frame. I see less than 10% difference in size between 4.99 and 5.00 -

CentOS-4.5 and LG cd-rom/dvd burner
I would like to burn the cd-rom iso's of CentOS-5.0 on my desktop machine, which is running CentOS-4.5. Is there a site or other reference that can provide me with a detailed, hand held, step-by-step, blow-by-blow description on how to do this for my installation? CD Burner that supports .ogg files?
Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to the world of Vorbis, but after hearing the sound comparisons I was sold. I've recently begun a massive undertaking of ripping all my CD's to hard disk in preparation for the home theater PC that I'm in the process of building. I am a couple of hundred CD's into this and I came across one small problem, I can't find any CD burning software
