Memdisk + Freedos problem
I and some other people have problems with running the freedos image included in
Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD), when using memdisk for floppy emulation.
Memdisk starts booting the image and freedos shows the following menu:
0 Boot Clean
1 Boot UMBPCI (silent)
2 Boot UMBPCI (optimal)
3 Boot UMBPCI (semi-defensive)
4 Boot EMM386 (optimal)
5 Boot EMM386 (semi-defensive)

Serious, inacceptable artefacts with Ogg Vorbis
Hello developers,
I recently participated in a public listening test that was held by
German magazine c't. They had two categories, 64 kbps and 128 kbps.
I only participated in the 64 kbps test where there were 7 .wav files,
with 1 of them the original one and the other 6 being encoded with
different encoders. Without knowing which file was encoded with which
encoder you had to give each

Channel stuck with call pri flag
Hi,
I have a problem where some PRI channels get stuck in a "Call" mode. If I do
a zap show channel XX, it shows as "PRI Flags: Call". However there is no calls
on that channel. Trying to force a hangup does not work:
[root@neil1 Dialer]# asterisk -r -x "soft hangup zap/27-1"
-- Remote UNIX connection
zap/27-1 is not a known channel
Any ideas?

AEC learning behaviour
Perhaps you could add a warm-start to the AEC, such that the parameters
start near the correct values on all but the first use?

Xp Home hack + Domain join
Hello fellows,
Does anyone of you has found the hack to permit win xp home edition to
join a domain controller.
I found somewhere on the net a software that does this.
But it cost 145 $ US, so like the upgrade... ( the only difference in
that i will not give the money to Bill Gates)
My problem is with the password modification.
Every times someone does change his password, he has to go onto the

Getting masked FFT data out of libvorbisenc
[Apologies if this gets through twice. I sent it first without subscribing,
but it seems like it got stuck in the moderation queue, so I subscribed and
re-sent it.]
I'm doing some work on audio fingerprinting for a school project (more
precisely, my master's thesis. I got a hint on #vorbis that I might want to
look into the internal floor representations in libvorbisenc to get out audio

ogg: another tag?
I've learned that I can make a tag with vorbisgain that tells the player
at what volume a track is to be played to achieve a certain level of
loudness.
Is it possible that there will be a tag that tells the player for instance
to add more bass when it plays a track? Ore more treble?
With such tags it would be possible to customize the sound of a
track according to my wishes - without

thanks for getting back to me,
i have uploaded a zip file containing some sound files that
demonstrates the issue.

this contains

s.wma windows media encoder with 19khz voice compression ( 62K)

"reverse" quantile function
Peter,
thanks, very nice, this will work for me... could you also help with setting up the code to run the on liner "approx(sort(x), seq(0,1,,length(x)), q)$y" on the rows of a data frame using my example above? So if I cbind z and res,?
df<-cbind(z,res)
the "x" in your one liner would be the first 4 column values of each row and "q" is the last (5fth) column

Well, I don't know about yuuuge security risk (not saying there isn't
any...), but if this concerns you, you can also use LTMP instead, which
is probably a better solution here.

Re: gdbsx bug : fail on a breakpoint
Hmm... I don't know whats the real cause. Is it during boot of the HVM
guest, or is the guest completely up and you are trying to set
breakpoing?
For immediate use, can you just rebuilt the kernel with module built
in? I don't have a setup right now to debug/fix it, and am very busy
with PVH and preparing for xen summit, so need some time to debug and
fix it.
thanks,

IE6 Text Selection Problem
Hi Guys,
I have a problem with IE6. Using any version of prototype and any
version of scriptaculous IE loses the ability to select text by dragging
the text cursor over it. You can double/treble click text, or use shift
and the arrow keys but you cannot use the mouse. This applies to text in
both input and fixed elements. Has anyone else got this, or knows how to
fix it?
Cheers

lowpass option (Was: RE: channel coupling in rc2)
I would very much like a lowpass option because for FM radio broadcasting I
don't want to encode frequencies above 15khz. I'm waiting for this option
before switching to ogg from mp3(lame).
