Mailing list FAQ. Yes, you should read it.
Hello folks, A couple people are visibly not grokking some of the finer points of proper mailing list use, mostly using 'reply' instead of 'new message'. Thus it's time for... the FAQ. In this case FAQ == Frequently Answered Questions. We answer 'em before you ask 'em. They're not rules, they're just the way it works. 1) When posting to the list, don't

[LLVMdev] [IMPORTANT] Mailing list Move & Downtime (Tuesday, August 4th)
On August 4th (~9AM PDT, exact time TBD), all LLVM related mailing lists will move to a new mailing list server and will change to listname at lists.llvm.org. LLVMDev will probably change to LLVM-Dev to preserve consistency. This means a couple of things: 1) All mailing lists will be down on August 4th. We anticipated at least the full day of downtime (hopefully less if things go well). 2) SVN

Quick question on sieve
I have a procmail recipe that does the majority of my heavy lifting for my mailing lists. It's pretty straightforward, but as I understand it, this isn't something sieve can do: # [ ] contains a space and a tab :0 * 9876543210^0 ^(List-Id:.*<|X-Mailing-List:[ ]*)\/[-A-z0-9_+]+ * 9876543210^0 ^(List-Post:[ ]*(<mailto:)?|List-Owner:[ ]*(<mailto:)?owner-)\/[-A-Z0-9_+]+ *

ACD Distributed Scenario....
We need to make sure that all queue applications run on the correct system that the user agents that own the queue application are registered to. So when a server fails and the user agents register with their secondary server (which will always be configured to be the same server for those related agents) the queue application is running on that server and routed to correctly by it's peers.

Use sieve to move all mail automatically based on List-Id
Dear all, I currently use the following rule to automatically sort email into folders based on mailing lists: # split out the various list forms # Mailman & other lists using list-id if exists "list-id" { ??? if header :regex "list-id" "<([a-z_0-9-]+)[.@]" { ??????? set :lower "listname" "${1}"; ??????? fileinto :create

To leave windows behind
My goal is to say goodbye to Windows and you all are doing a great job towards this end. However, I have two sticking points that I could use some help with. 1. Internet Explorer installed and comes up well. However, I want to use the msn Investment Portfolio which has a set of secondary menus down the side and each of these have tertiary menus which I want to access. These tertiary menus are

Secondary, tertiary group problems in Samba LDAP
Hello, I found an interesting thing that I don't know if it is a bug, by design or I need to be doing something that I'm not but here goes. My system RedHat 8.0 (1) PDC with LDAP 2.1.23 backend master, (3) BDC with LDAP slave backend. All are Samba 3.0.

Reminder: This list is freebsd-security@FreeBSD.org, not security@FreeBSD.org
Hello Just a little reminder that the FreeBSD Security list only has the address freebsd-security@FreeBSD.org, and not security@FreeBSD.org. The address security@FreeBSD.org is for the FreeBSD Security Team. If anyone is interested in the reason for this, see this thread from last year: http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/mid.cgi?20040407154220.GA5651 . -- Simon L. Nielsen FreeBSD Security Team

Speex mailing list migrating to xiph.org
Hello Speex list members, The Speex Project is moving into space here on Xiph.Org's servers, and among other things, we're taking over running the mailing list. The new address for Speex mail is 'speex-dev@xiph.org'. All the members of the current list are already added to the new speex-dev list. An online searchable mailing list archive is at http://www.xiph.org/archives/speex/
