XL toolstack and drbd
Hej folks, I''m messing around with DRBD once again but with a new Xen 4.1.2 installation using the XL toolstack instead of the xend daemon. However, after getting my DRBD installed and a device operational, trying to create a domU using the drbd block device doesn''t want to work: xl create -c test.cfg Parsing config file test.cfg Unknown disk type: drbd My config has: disk

Unable to use DRBD after a reboot
Hi, I have two servers in a drbd primary/secondary setup. Everything was fine until I had to reboot both servers. The primary rebooted first, the secondary assumed fine, but when the (old primary) server got back online it was unable to mount the drbd fs complaining about the modules. I've tried to find out the problem but the servers seem to have the same setup rpm -qa | grep drbd

xl - no support for DRBD disks?
I tried to create a domain with drbd based disk as the backend "drbd:<resourcename>,..," and I get a "unknown disk type" error. I can spin out a patch if needed, but just wanted to know apriori if this was left out for any specific reason. shriram _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com

GNBD and DRBD kernel mods
Hi all, I am using heartbeat and drbd on CentOS 5 (see http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=7816&forum=41 for details).. DRBD and heartbeat are working, and now I want to put GNBD on top on this. However, I installed the latest CentOS-plus kernel (2.6.18-8.1.8.el5.centos.plus) but there doesn't appear to be a kmod-gndb for this kernel. Looks like the latest

drbd-kmdl packages question
Dear collegues! I've got one question about drbd-kmdl packages. As I can see at $ rpm -qp --qf "%{DESCRIPTION}" kmod-drbd-8.0.16-5.el5_3.i686.rpm This package provides the drbd kernel modules built for the Linux kernel 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5 for the i686 family of processors. So, the question is - kmod-drbd is for kernel 128.4.1 (or build for this kernel version), but current kernel is

drbd on CentOS 5
Hi All, Is the centosplus kernel still needed for drbd support? I noticed that if I do a 'yum update kmod-drbd', yum gives me an error because it wants to install the "normal" CentOS kernel, but can't since I have it excluded. I do see kmod-drbd in the centosplus repo though. Regards, Ranbir -- Kanwar Ranbir Sandhu Linux 2.6.22.9-61.fc6 i686 GNU/Linux 15:12:04 up 21

design question
Ladies and Gents, Researching the problem with DRBD 0.8 and OCFS2 not being able to mount... It appears to me the same problem has been reported, yet no fix was posted on the news group... (http://oss.oracle.com/pipermail/ocfs2-users/2006-August/000754.html) In any case, my env. looks as follows: drbd-8.0.6-1.el5.centos (primary/primary) kmod-drbd-8.0.6-1.2.6.18_53.1.4.el5

DRBD 8.0.6 introduces "native" live-migration ability
Thought this would be interesting for some people: Version 8.0.6 of DRBD comes with a nice script that adds support for a config like disk = [ ''drbd:r0,hda1,w'' ] This supports migration and live migration without having to take care of drbd yourself. Really nice feature. Read changelog on 8.0.6 on: http://svn.drbd.org/drbd/branches/drbd-8.0/ChangeLog Regards Dominik
