EAQUAL binaries
I am but a poor code & compile illiterate, making it impossible for me to create Windows binaries from the EAQUAL source (http://sourceforge.net/projects/eaqual/). Would someone be interested in providing said binaries? They would be very helpful to me in evaluating Ogg Vorbis and other audio codecs. I'm also sure that other people would benefit from the program. -- GMX - Die

ODG (Objective Difference Grade) scores for Opus Encoder using PQEvalAudio Tool
Hi Rhishi, PQevalaudio is very unreliable and buggy. I have compared to PEAQ and - as a result - now I am not using it anymore. ODG (Objective Difference Grade) scores for Opus Encoder using PQEvalAudio Tool
Hi, I checked the ODG (Objective Difference Grade) scores for a few reference vectors using the PQEvalAudio Tool and found that some of them show ODG scores as high as -3.5 If we look at the range as described in the link below, it looks unacceptable. http://www-mmsp.ece.mcgill.ca/documents/Software/Packages/AFsp/PQevalAudio.html Am I missing something or are these scores valid? Thanks and

Digital Ear evaluation of Vorbis beta 4
For those who haven't yet seen this: EarGuy's Digital Ear (physiological model of the ear based on work by Frank Baumgarte) has just finished rating the sound quality of Vorbis beta 4 at 128 kbs using 30 random 10-second selections of music: http://pub41.ezboard.com/fr3mixfrm4.showMessage?topicID=33.topic Two samples on which the Ear says Vorbis performed uncharacteristically poorly

Document Management Suggestions
I am looking to create an intranet document management solution that would take advantage of Ruby/Rails/Subversion etc. I want to get away from document management using MS Word, Excel etc. Can anyone recommend a direction I should investigate? I am currently gathering information on Docbook, Latex, ODF,ODT,ODG,ODP, TinyMCE and others as I find them. Ideally I would like to convert manuals

RC2 better than RC3? Graphed!
Well, this question comes once and again. I have RC3 and Garf's RC2 tuned versions (160 and 350) in a nice graph. Nobody should be surprised that RC3 is better, but in some cases GRC2 shows better EAQUAL/bitrate results. There seems to be room for improvement in RC3 with some tweaking. See it by yourself at http://audio.sinderman.com/ Cheers, AGS.

Ogg Vorbis Quality Analisis (+ bug) (+ misc)
I have run an ogg analisis using EAQUAL from -q 0 till -q 10 evaluating bitrate and quality. The results are shown in a nice graph, and can be seen here: http://audio.sinderman.com/ One thing I have found is a bug, as it is cleary shown by the blue lines. Other discoveries are written in that page, and others are still evolving in my mind :) The goals of this analisis is to help the developers

Speex Resampler quality
Hi, I just built a sample application with speex resampler in linux and I tried to resample 8K sine wave tone mono to 48k using speex_resample_process_int. I am using a tool called EAQUAL for audio quality. I find the quality of Speex resampler to be decreasing when I increase the quality q of the resampler init function. Can some one give me pointers regarding this?? As per the API, if the

Reading multiple txt files into one data frame
Hello All, I have a device that spews out experimental data as a series of text files each of which contains one column with several rows of numeric data. My problem is that for each trial it gives me one text file (and I run between 30 to 50 trials at a time) and I would ideally like to merge all these text files into one large data frame with each column representing a single trial. It is not

Error resilience
Hi, We're testing CELT (version 0.7.1) error resilience capability. We've used already celtdec packet-loss options. Hence we know what to expect in case of whole packet loss. How does Celt respond to a broken encoded packet? Is it always better to discard it and decode the missing frame through decode_lost? We have the hardware capability of protecting the frame with multiple CRCs.

How to select a whole column? Thanks!
Dear all, I hope to remove a whole column from a data frame or matrix (> 2000 columns). All value in the column are same. The first thing is to select those columns. For instance, I hope to remove the V3~6 column, for all the value in those colume is zero. V3 V4 V5 V6 V7 V8 V9 V10 1 0 0 0 0 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 2 0 0 0 0 0.000 0.000 0.000 0.000 3 0 0 0

quality settings
ARGH! I am at a complete loss as to which OGG quality settings to use: 8? 10? 3? I'd like to be able to listen to my primarily Rock oriented music on a high-end system (though I don't own one - yet) without any noticeable sound degradation, but I don't want to go total overkill with -q 10. With LAME, I at least used to know 192 kbps with -q0 was a perfect size/quality proportion. I
