rc2 incompatibilities ?
Files encoded with rc2 (comes from the latest RPM available at vorbis.com) seems to be unreadable for ogg123 < rc2 version (for example, beta4) Is that normal ? Will this file be readable with ogg123 >= rc2 ? Are plugins for windows player updated, can they read ogg files encoded with ogg123 rc2 ? --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

Floor type 0 and residues type 0 and 1
Hi, it seems to me as if all vorbis-files only contain floors of type 1 and residues of type 2. Is it possible to "force" the encoder to somehow create a vorbis-file with the other floor and residue types? "LoadError: no such file to load -- openssl", following Rails Guides
[With apologies for cross-posting at http://railsforum.com/viewtopic.php?id=39587] Hi all, I''m following the edge ''getting started'' guide at http://guides.rails.info/getting_started.html, running ROR 3. I''m running Ruby 1.9.2 (as instructed by the guide), installed using RVM. I get an error when following "4.3 Setting the Application Home Page".

Dovecot Migration so far
We've been doing our own beta testing of Dovecot 2.0-beta4 IMAP (both direct IMAP and webmail-fronted), and we've had nothing but glowing compliments from our beta users/victims. I've also been running a lone box with the latest mercurial build and that's been running just fine too. All mail data is on NFS, but I've put indexes on the local disk, which has worked just dandy so

Dificult macro, please advise
Hi, BRIEF RESUME: Is there any other way to obtain the same result but being easier to configure?? Thanks! EXTENDED RESUME: i've configured a, rather difficult, macro that even for me without being documented is difficult. I ask for the help of the experts to know if the functionality it apports can be achieved better in another way. What i'm trying is to enable call a channel (e.g.

v1.2.beta4 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.2/beta/dovecot-1.2.beta4.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/1.2/beta/dovecot-1.2.beta4.tar.gz.sig This release fixes a memory corruption bug related to MODSEQ handling in earlier v1.2 releases. Memory corruption means that it's a security bug and possibly exploitable. MODSEQ code is new in v1.2, so v1.1 and older releases are not affected. Other than that, there

Or Squat indexing problems? -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment

RC2 vs. beta4 (test)
Hi! I would like to share with you an interesting test result. I re-encoded a song 10 times (the 2. made from the 1., the 3. made from the 2.,... the 10. made from the 9.), with a beta4 (CVS 20010620) and with an RC2 (CVS 20010817) library version, 256 kbit/s mode, channel coupling disabled at RC2. The beta4 is very good at the 10. encoding too, but the RC2 has some interesting quality bugs. So,

Floor codebooks vs. Residue codebooks
Hi, Please brace yourselves for some possibly stupid questions. Why are there only 2 codebooks for floors and many more for residue values? What makes the encoding of floor values fundamentally different from encoding residue values? I have a basic understanding of VQ, and looking at the floor decode function, it all makes sense 1) Read the codebook index from the stream 2) Do a

parfm unable to fit models when hazard rate is small
Hello, I would like to use the parfm package: https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/parfm/parfm.pdfhttps://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/parfm/parfm.pdf in my work. This package fits parametric frailty models to survival data. To ensure I was using it properly, I started by running some small simulations to generate some survival data (without any random effects), and analyse the data using

Building a new decoder - some questions on the spec (residue decode)
Hi I am trying to build a new decoder in Java, I know there are a couple of java decoders already but they don't implement the bit of the spec I am having questions on Question 1) In section 8.6.2 it mentions "However, it is also possible to set [residue_begin] and [residue_end] to specify a range partially or wholly beyond the maximum vector size. Before beginning residue decode,

Problems if optimization
What's up fellows... I am a begginer in R and i am trying to find the parameters of one likelihood function, but when i otimize it, always appers a error or advertisement and the solve does not occur. The problem seems like that: "lMix<-function(pars,y){ beta1<-pars[1] beta2<-pars[2] beta3<-pars[3] beta4<-pars[4] beta5<-pars[5] alfa1<-pars[6]

Lost residue modifications
Hello, I'm trying to modify the residue vectors in Vorbis audio files at encoding time. For testing, I'm just adding +1 to each residue vector's element, so e.g., if I have an original residue vector of [0,1,2,3] I modify it during the encoding to be [1,2,3,4], and at the decoder's side I should receive the [1,2,3,4] vector. The problem is that, after adding the +1, I still

Winamp plugin not recognized at all
I happily downloaded the official beta4 winamp plugin as well as Mattew's versions with VCE interated and with/without the dialog. When I installed it winamp (v2.72) didn't recognize it (no vorbis plugin listed in the config, doesn't play ogg files) - same for all of them. I recompiled it myself from Mattew's source with vce - same results. It does recognize the old plugin when

Spectral phase information in residue vectors
I found this sentence in the Ogg format specs: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/vorbis/doc/vorbis-spec-res.html "A residue vector may represent spectral lines, spectral magnitude, spectral phase or hybrids as mixed by channel coupling." But where does the spectral phase information come from ? AFAIK MDCT doesn't provide any phase information. And in OGG-encoding, MDCT is taking place a few
