rc2 incompatibilities ?
Files encoded with rc2 (comes from the latest RPM available at vorbis.com) seems to be unreadable for ogg123 < rc2 version (for example, beta4) Is that normal ? Will this file be readable with ogg123 >= rc2 ? Are plugins for windows player updated, can they read ogg files encoded with ogg123 rc2 ? --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

WinAmp RC1/RC2 problem
Hi, I've got a number of sound effects for a mod of a game in Ogg Vorbis format, encoded with OggDrop (RC2). WinAmp with Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder RC1 and RC2 freeze when I try to play those files. Maybe it's because the files are so small? Both OGG and WAV versions can be found at http://xccu.sourceforge.net/temp/winamp_crash.zip Olaf van der Spek Almere, Holland Olaf@XCC.TMFWeb.NL

GrandStream ATA286 & RC2 (was RC2 - H323 channel broken)
Hello everybody, when I upgraded from RC1 to RC2 I didn't had any audio between my ATA286 and H323 EP (my post from 13/08/04) I checked further and discover that problem is with ATA286 who is unable to call. I always get an 404 error. Coming back to RC1 everything works fine again. I tried to modify my dtmfmode from rfc2833 to info but in change nothing. Local call to asterisk are

Problems with German umlauts and vorbiscomment
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, as I said before on this list I use the vorbiscomment utility in my music file management perl script and I've just noticed that it has huge problems with German umlauts. "ö", for example, becomes "ö", which is QUITE annoying. In xmms, the tags are displayed correctly, though. I'm using the newest libraries and

rc1 did not exhibit this mismatch. A repeat of the rc2 build repeated the mismatch. I diff'd the disassembly between phase 2 and phase 3 and the difference is the same on both builds. The difference follows: # diff x86isel_p{2,3}.s 2c2 < Phase2/Release/llvmCore-8.0.0-rc2.obj/lib/Target/X86/CMakeFiles/LLVMX86CodeGen.dir/X86ISelLowering.cpp.o: file format elf64-x86-64 --- >

RC2 worse than RC1 and Beta4
After doing an informal (128k) listening test, I have concluded that I prefer Beta4 over RC2. The 16kHz low-pass on the RC2 encoder makes it sound like FM radio. Both encoders SEEM to have a couple of dB bump at 10kHz. [7.0.0 Release] rc2 has been tagged
Dear testers, 7.0.0-rc2 was just tagged (from branch revision r340437). There have been a bunch of merges since rc1, and hopefully many of the issues with the previous candidate are fixed in this one. Please run the test script, share the results, and upload binaries. I will publish source tarballs, docs, and binaries on the web page once they're ready. Thanks, Hans

Hi, The 7.0.1-rc2 release has been tagged and is ready for testing. I forgot to bump the version number to 7.0.1 before I tagged -rc1, which is why we are now on -rc2. Remember, you can continue to submit merge requests up until Nov, 21, so keep testing and submitting fixes. Thanks, Tom

Minimal decoder version for RC2 encoded files
Hi, What version of the decoder do I need to decode RC2 encoded files? I used beta 4 in some utilities and I didn't download the newest vorbis source yet and a user reported the utility didn't work.
