Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there. While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder. First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76 on Windows 98 SE. 1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played. 2. I check the option of

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.13a (BUG)
Hi, there. Thanx for the update, Peter. That scrolling stuff working...but this time, the information on the artists and the titles are not displayed on the playlist till the song is being played. Is this happening to only me (I am on Win98SE)? At r3mix forum (http://r3mix.net/forum or http://r3mixforum.cjb.net), there is a high-level discussion on the channel coupling implementation on RC1

Pre-echo like noises on Beta4
Hi, there. Although I'm not a hacker at all, I noticed an audible noise on Beta 4 encoded files. So, I'd like to report it here. I ripped and encoded 'A Day Without Rain' on the album with the same name By Enya into Vorbis using Oggenc and Oggdrop Beta 4 from the Vorbis site. (You know, she is quite an encoder-killer.) At all the bitrates, files encoded by Oggdrop had audible

Ogg Vorbis ripping/encoding on Windows
I think the new web page is wonderful. However, one thing annoyed me. Some programs on 'Other Software Which Supports Ogg Vorbis' page at Vorbis.com seems to be bit problematic. As far as I know, at least two of them have not updated their plug-ins for a while. 1. 'CD-DA X-Tractor' vorbenc-20001018.zip as 'Latest released version of vorb_enc.dll' 2. 'Media

ABR or CBR?
Just in case my quotation causeed misunderstnaing... Forget about what I quoted before. Probably, by CBR, Monty meant ABR since CBR is stupidly patented and this is the reason why Vorbis has no CBR option. If you know this, it cannot be a problem but I see there is a question asking what is ABR in the mailing list. >On Thu 28 Jun 2001, 23:27:41 PDT, Monty (xiphmont@xiph.org)Wrote: >then

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v1.11a (BUG)
Hello I'm new to the list. I went through recent archives and didn't find any mention of this, sorry if this has already been discussed. When listening to a stream (http://bumpy.braille.uwo.ca:9000/test.ogg) winamp crashed after a few minutes. When i tried going back in and went back to the stream it worked for a few minutes again and crashed. The times are different (8:27 and 6:20, and

Nullsoft winamp's FLAC plugin
Hi, Does anybody know if the FLAC plugin of Nullsoft winamp (the one included with winamp itself, not the one you can download on the FLAC website) uses the reference FLAC decoder? thx -- 'C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do, it blows away your whole leg.' --Bjarne Stroustrup, The Creator of C++ 'And so at last the beast fell and the

As far as I'm able to tell, and I admit to knowing very little indeed, I get the impression that it's something like Quicktime or Ogg (ie. a container format). Presumably it still uses HTTP(ish) protocols (i.e. TCP), but who knows. They reckon it's documented, so I guess you could dig up more

well, I'm not sure that's the reasoning... from Tom P : "i'm making changes to yp which will detect the presence of mp3pro within a non-encapsulated stream and prohibit its listing. nsv/nsa is an open protocol and the authors who wish to broadcast with this format should a) rewrite the stream provider to encapsulate and broadcast in the encapsulated protocol, b) discuss with

we actually have a XML interface into the directory...and this interface is freely available and can be utilized by anyone wishing to write a front end for it...It is available here : http://dir.xiph.org/yp.xml and is refreshed every minute. Already some people are using this interface (and actually someone at wasabi-dev wrote a wasabi component which provides a stream browser to wasabi -
