Re: ogg vorbis
That's great to hear. Is there anyone I can talk to about it who is
more involved with the decision making process?
It would honestly take little effort I think, and I know that lots of
useres are requesting it (I get 5-10 emails about it a week at least).
Probably the biggest request from our users, is for Ogg Vorbis support
in the Nomad line of products. I'm willing to do whatever I

Sure.
However, I don't believe e-mail is an effective tool to make change, since
much of the stuff that gets sent about things like this, either look like
fanatics that won't take no for an answer, or people that demand their
right to something which a company can't guarantee or has no obligation to
provide. Most of the time, e-mail ends up sounding like a flame fest which

Vorbis transcoding for Creative Nomads
Forwarding a conversation with a company that provides a management tool
for transcoding Vorbis files to MP3 when communicating with the Nomad
Jukeboxes from Creative. Good initiative, and probably sounds OK too, but
would be even better with FLAC, so I'll ask about it.

Ogg Vorbis + Hardware
Hello,
I'm undergoing a project in which I'm researching the viability of different
portable audio formats for implementation in hardware. I have owned, for a
number of years, Creative's Nomad II MG portable MP3 player, and recently
posted several messages asking about Ogg Vorbis support on this product
line.
Amongst flames and miscellanous trivia, somebody from Creative actually

Nomad 3 support for Vorbis?
Rumor has it that the newly released "MP3" player from Creative, Nomad
Jukebox 3, supports Ogg Vorbis.
Can anyone confirm this?

RTP Payload for Vorbis Audio: draft-moffitt-vorbis-rtp-00.txt
We want to push for an open and standards compliant system for all
multimedia. We've done a good job on the interoperability side with
icecast and MP3. We're making a ton of progress with the Vorbis codec
as well, which will allow us to do many things we weren't able to do
before.
It's time to start thinking about RTSP, RTP, Multicast and all of the
other standards and features.

Feel free to comment these minutes and ask questions to be sorted out during the
next meeting.
