Status of Windows builds for libvorbis/libogg
Hi all, I've just done a quick check of the libvorbis Visual C++ 6.0 project on Windows, and am happy to say that both libvorbis and libogg build fine. (Theora isn't quite so lucky -- see the theora-dev mailing list for details on that.) There are two suggestions I can make, though: 1. To build properly, the directories must be checked out with certain names, and in paths

Hello, I'm running into problems while trying to build libvorbis. My build platform is Solaris 10 (sparc) (11/06) with GCC 3.4.6. The build fails with the following error : Making all in examples gmake[2]: Entering directory `/afs/cad.njit.edu/u/a/n/andym/ftp/freeware/multimedia/ogg/libvorbis-1.2.0/examples' gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I.. -I../include

libvorbis and vorbis
Hello there, I use Redhat 7.1 and KDE2.2.2. There is always a dependency problem when I upgrade "kdebase". This needs "libvorbis". Instead of "libvorbis" I have a package called "vorbis-1.0beta4-3".I downloaded a new package called"libvorbis-1.0rc2-1". When I tried to installed it, there is a conflict problem: file

Multichannel Encoder on TMS320
Hello All, I've an embedded system question... Anyone used a floating point DSP to do Vorbis encoding? (eg TMS320C67xx) I'd like to do as many mono channels as poss at maybe 16 or 22kHz sample rate. There's a cripplingly expensive AAC library function which reckons to do 6 or more channels on one of these chips, so I guess I'll get something similar doing verbs. Any advice?

libvorbis and vorbis-tools 1.1.1 release.
I'm pleased to announce the release of libvorbis and vorbis-tools 1.1.1. These releases include some bug and documentation fixes, but no new encoder modes. However, oggenc from this release now properly supports the new CBR engine introduced in libvorbis 1.1.0 but the 1.1.1 release of both libraries is required for things to work properly. Not that there was never a 1.1.0 release of

libvorbis 1.2.1 RC2
Hello list, As some of you may have noted, the release of libvorbis 1.2.1 was put on hold, I reckon due to the possible unavailability of the main developer to review certain patches to solve issues found recently in libvorbis. So, why not ask help from the community to speed up this process? This is what this thread will be about. Let's go into detail regarding the two issues I mentioned

libvorbis 1.2.3 not generating 96kHz ogg file
Hi, I'm trying to get ffmpeg (linked with libvorbis 1.2.3) to generate a 96kHz ogg file, but I seem to be limited to 50kHz . The command is ffmpeg -i t16bit96kHz.wav -acodec libvorbis test.ogg and I get the error message [libvorbis @ 0x2051460]oggvorbis_encode_init: init_encoder failedError while opening codec for output stream #0.0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width

compile optimization error in libvorbis-1.0
Wow, I've never seen an FSF gcc crap out like this on a non-overheating system. When lib/envelope.c is compiled with -march=i686, gcc gets a signal 11, but not with -march=i586. I'm not sure whether to blame gcc or libvorbis. There are apparently three other files in libvorbis where this same behavior is seen. jeffrey@diddl:/usr/src/build/libvorbis-1.0/lib$ gcc

Hi libvorbis developers! I'm wondering if you had a chance to see my request for releasing a new libvorvis version - this is to have an official libvorbis release containing the CVE fixes that appear to be fixed in the master branch. Is there anything we can do to help with getting a release out? We're happy to work with you on this. Please let us know if we can do anything to help

libvorbis compile failure
The latest CVS update of libvorbis fails to compile on SuSE Linux 6.4. The error is below. Also, what happened to the xmms plugin directory in cvs? It complains that it is missing when I do a 'cvs update'. gcc -DPACKAGE=\"libvorbis\" -DVERSION=\"1.0beta3\" -DHAVE_ALLOCA_H=1 -DHAVE_ ALLOCA=1 -I. -I. -I../include -O20 -ffast-math -mno-ieee-fp -D_REENTRANT -fs

Everyone, I'm pleased to announce the release of libvorbis version 1.1.0. This is the first major release since 1.0 and offers new encoder tunings for additional compression efficiency as well as a number of bugs fixes. Developers will be interested in the new 'CBR' mode support and encoder_ctl() interface. Source archives are available from our new download site:

libvorbis won't compile on LFS.
This is a linux from scratch based on the 2.4.13 kernel. I'm using a GCC 2.95.3, autoconf 2.52, and automake 1.5. Libvorbis compilation fails with a Signal 11 error as shown below. I had the same results with 2.4.12, 2.4.10, and 2.4.9. I've compiled hundreds of other packages without getting this error, and I've even tried changing the memory. This is my configure line, I used

Coverity and libvorbis
Hi all, I'm not sure if you are aware, but libvorbis has been scanned by the Coverity static analysis team : http://scan.coverity.com/ For libvorbis, it found 8 possible bugs. To fix these bugs Coverity need a repesentative from the project to contact them for access to the coverity reporting facilities. The reason I am keen to see Xiph take up this challenge is that when all
