What we need to make it
Here's what we need for a BIG popularity boost: Good interfaces! Yeah yeah, i know, i'll be bitched at on how I should do it on my own, but one thing that always ticked me about MP3 - the lack of tools that do the job without the mess. What we need now is - an ID tag editor. Menu-driven, that means CLI or GUI. We need that, badly. Encoder - GUIs for X and MS Windows. Right now, encoding

mac player for ogg streams
Things to check out... MintAudio (http://mint.unsanity.com/) says it has Ogg Vorbis support, but I don't know about streaming. Unsanity Echo also lists Ogg Vorbis support (http://www.unsanity.com/echo.php). I'd check it out, but I'm on a slow connection right now. BTW, http://macosx.forked.net/ has MacOS X ports of libogg, libvorbis, icecast, mpg123 and xmms. On Thursday,

Graph window is not available any more
Hi all, I have currently been using the book Modern Applied Statistics with S from Venables and Ripley. At chapter 6 on Linear Statistical models I wanted to produce the plot as shown by "Figure 6.1" using Whiteside's data. xyplot command seems not to work on my version of "R"(version 1.7.0) running on different environments (Win XP, Win 98 and Win 2000). I then used the

[LLVMdev] RFC: [Proposal] Module-Level Attributes
On Oct 28, 2010, at 5:46 PM, Bill Wendling wrote: > > Comments? Hi Bill, This is a broad solution to what sounds like a specific problem. Are there any other uses for module-level attributes anticipated? Do you anticipate defining what ImageInfo, CorrectedSynthesize, GCOnly, etc. mean in LangRef.html, or are they just going to be left as "The is for ObjC." ? Thanks, Dan

Ogg Vorbis Player(s)
Mr. Christopher Montgomery Lead Programmer Xiph.Org. <p>Dear Sir, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me which player(s) to use to listen to streaming radios broadcasting on the Net in the OGG VORBIS format. I understand that several French radio stations (France Inter, France Info etc...) are adopting Ogg Vorbis and I would like very much to try it. I have heard of several

mac player for ogg streams
Hi, I have 2 Icecast2 servers set-up (1 unix and 1 win32) that I have been testing with live streams using Oddcast. I can get the stream playing in Winamp no problems but on the Vorbis.com site it suggests that Macamp supports streaming : "A MacOS vorbis player that has highly integrated streaming features." Although it doesnt say it specifically supports ogg, and as it happens it

NVPTX Back-end: relocatable device code support for dynamic parallelism
Hi everyone, CUDA allows to call some runtime functions also from the device code. On a multi-GPU system this allows the GPU to determine its device id on its own via cudaGetDevice(). Unfortunately i cannot get it working when compiling with clang. When compiling with nvcc relocatable device code needs to be set to true (-rdc=true) and the cudadevrt is needed when linking [0]. I did not

when is the o.s. considered to be at a certain minor version? Or, is it safe to apply only certain package updates from the next release version?
Two related questions about the minor release numbers (e.g. the 'x' in 5.x or 6.x) : 1) What constitutes the o.s. being at a particluar minor release? Typically, when you install you are getting a package set available from a specific minor release number. But what minor release is the o.s. at if I just update the centos-release package, and no other package? Typically, a 'yum

Why not pulseaudio?
Pulseaudio works great in wine using the modified wine from the Neill Aldur ppa. Tried everything else (padsp, pasuspender, blah) and nothing would work reliably. Some crashes when another application outputs sound, sometimes the sound does not work at all, sometimes it is awfully slow or with latency varying while recording, leading to unpredictable offsets in recorded files. Using pulseaudio
