[PATCH] liboggplay - kate support, build fixes, and misc
Hi, I've added kate support to liboggplay (a prerequisite to getting kate tracks to work with the mozilla plugin, which I've now got working on Linux). In addition to the Kate code: - a new oggplay-uninstalled.pc file - configure.ac checks for C++ compiler - no check for fishsound version - it wanted 0.8.0, but the svn itself was 0.7.1 !? - don't use imlib2 (nor dump-first-frame) if

Pure Java theora implementation - LGPL
I've started working on a pure-java port of Theora under the LGPL, as a subproject of FMJ, the open-source implementation of JMF. It is similar to and dependent on the jogg/jorbis libraries from jcraft. The Cortado implementation is nice, but since it is GPL, that is too restrictive for FMJ, which is LGPL. This is, naturally, a large undertaking, and any help by anyone interested would

liboggplay: RGBA overlay video, rendering with libtiger
Hi, the attached patch adds rendering of Kate streams using libtiger. To do so, it adds a new type of RGBA video. One can request the incoming video (in YUV) to be sent in RGBA (ie, asking liboggplay to do the conversion in the first place). The large changes in the GLUT player also include fixes for crash-on-no-sound, mono sound, and locking fixes (I *think* - at least it works fine for me

How to do Theora playback efficiently ?
Dear theora developer community, currently I'm working on a simple Theora player for Windows. But the code in the player_example.c seems not to have the performance of other implementations like the Direct Show filters by illuminate. In the example player, all important things are done in one thread: decoding the next vorbis or theora packet(s) and reading from the physical stream (+ split

[PATCH] liboggplay - kate support, build fixes, and misc
> I think you forgot to include oggplay-uninstalled.pc.in in the patch :-) Attached, plus the oggplay.pc.in as well, as I added @KATE_CFLAGS@ to both. Also attached is a patch to avoid miscounting the number of active tracks (a bug in my previous patch), and the current patch to the mozilla plugin (still work in progress, the Javascript API will change a little) if anyone feels like

yuv - rgb conversion without contrast decrease.
Hello list, When I convert an yuv pixel into rgb using the recipies in http://www.fourcc.org/fccyvrgb.php I get an accurate color conversion but the contrast seems to be decreased. If i write, e.g., the pixel directly into an sdl yuv_overlay, I get a well-contrasted frame, however, if I convert the pixel to rgb and call SDL_MapRGB, I get a contrast-decreased frame. Thanks, Ribamar

Using Theora Micro-HOWTO
Okay, thanks to some stubbornness on my part and helpfulness on the part of people on this mailing list, I got the Ogg Theora alpha compiled up and installed and running. Yesterday, I went to the Prelinger archives (the public-domain video archive at www.archive.com) to find a high-quality original to re-encode as a test. The encoder worked just fine, and playback as well, and I thought I'd

Beginner Hurdles
Hey everyone, I just got Theora running on my Mac, and ran across several hurdles, that I was wondering if someone could help me with. I do a lot of tech support at work, and get the same questions over and over, so I tried skimming the archives but couldn't find the answers. Maybe these could go in a FAQ of some sort? These are fairly unavoidable issues that should probably be

player_example vs splayer
Speaking of portability and people more familiar with SDL: The reason we have two example players for theora is that monty wrote the original example around the OSS audio interface used on several free unix-like operating systems, which immediately excludes win32 and MacOS, even though it used SDL to display the frames. SDL also has audio support, and is quite widely ported. splayer replaces
