libshout, ices, and icecast2 CVS Ebuilds
All - I've just posted a set of ebuilds (package format for the Gentoo distribution) in my web space. I figure I'm not the only one hacking on icecast that uses Gentoo and these haven't made it into the main Portage tree just yet. To use them, place them in the following locations underneath a Portage overlay directory (i.e. /usr/local/portage): icecast2-cvs-2.0.ebuild into

Gentoo ebuild
Hi! Since I switched from SuSE to Gentoo (before Novell era :-) I wrote a simple ebuild script for building wxruby on Gentoo. Few notes: a) in order to work, wxruby-0.1.0.tgz should contain wxruby-0.1.0 folder since it is a Gentoo policy and I hope it''s not a problem to change that for 0.2.0 b) I assumed that one needs Ruby >= 1.8.0 and wx >= 2.4.1. Is it OK? Please inspect

rebased openSUSE Xen dom0 Patches
I''ve uploaded updated 2.6.31 and 2.6.32 rebased openSUSE Xen dom0 patches and ebuilds to http://code.google.com/p/gentoo-xen-kernel/downloads/list Notable change is that both include the online resize feature recently posted to xen-devel. NVFaxDetect on Gentoo
Hi, I've merged asterisk-0.9.0 on a gentoo (kernel 2.4) system using portage ebuilds. I've just got NVFaxDetect .c files from Justin Newman and I'm about to install them. I want to know which is the best way to accomplish this. Thanks in advance. -- Juan Luis Moyano juanmoyano@southecon.com.ar

audio sample rates
I have an Icecast server and an Asterisk dialplan containing a call to ICES(/my/ices.xml). So Asterisk launches "ices /my/ices.xml" where /my/ices.xml contains: <input> <module>stdinpcm</module> <param name="rate">8000</param> <param name="channels">1</param> </input> and <encode>

APC Smart UPS 900i
Hi, I'm running an old APC Smart UPS 900i. As there isn't any software from APC which supports this UPS anymore, I've installed NUT (Gentoo Ebuilds), but version 2.0.5 and version 2.2.2 loose connection to the UPS while version 2.4.1 and SVN version don't show any settings and there are no instant commands. The only information I can get are: driver.name: apcsmart

Gentoo HOWTO is outdated
Hi there! This HOWTO is outdated: http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/GentooEbuilds x11-base/nouveau-drm from the x11 overlay asks for the 3.2 version of kernel, but the latest version is 3.1.5. This advice is also wrong: "These ebuilds do not have any keyword, as it is usual with cvs/svn/git releases. To be able to install them, you have to mark them with ** in package.keywords."

NPTL & Wine
Hi, My main systems are Gentoo based. I am investigating switching to NPTL on one of them that uses a couple of different versions of Wine built from source. In doing the research I found that the Gentoo ebuilds for Wine use NPTL. Does this mean that if I switch to NPTL that I must recompile my source-caode based versions of Wine? If so, can someone tell my what options I would use, most likely

compilation of asterisk 1.4.19 with ilbc already on system
I already have ilbc installed on my system. The files are: /usr/include/ilbc/iLBC_decode.h /usr/include/ilbc/iLBC_define.h /usr/include/ilbc/iLBC_encode.h /usr/lib/libilbc.a /usr/lib/libilbc.la /usr/lib/libilbc.so -> libilbc.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libilbc.so.0 -> libilbc.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libilbc.so.0.0.0 However, if I do a "make" in asterisk-1.4.19, it will not detect that libilbc.a

Hi, I''m tryng to set up Xen, I have errors and google does not help me. The situation is simple: I installed Xen-3.0.2 on gentoo. The Dom0 kernel is up and running, all works perfectly. Calling gentoo maintainers
If anyone knows someone with CVS access can they please take another look at http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22080. It has been in bugzilla for nearly nine months. Would like to see this in portage - masked is fine - so at least everyone is working off the same file. Cheers Zach. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... Sieve not recognizing keywords
First, I've been lurking and using dovecot for a few years now and I've always liked it, great piece of software! :) I've finally decided to clean up my act here and get virutal users and get postfix (2.3), dovecot (1.0.0) and deliver to play nice, using postfixadmin. I have it 99% there, but one thing is left: When I receive mails, deliver finds my virtual home dir and then tries

1.0 alpha3 released
I'm a bit too busy nowadays because of school so I haven't had time to look at everyone's bug reports and some other mails. They're still marked as unread in my mailbox, so hopefully I'll get to them soon. And I don't mind you resend them if I don't answer in a few weeks :) Changes: - Fixed maildir syncing errors about wrong UIDs - Maildir was re-read all the time,

Kernel modules errors and weird xl behavior with Xen 4.1
Hello, I''m using Gentoo Linux amd64 with the 2.6.34-xen-r4 kernel from portage. I''ve been successfully using Xen 4.0 for almost a year, but now it seems that with the dawn of Xen 4.1, the package maintainers have forces unstable users to upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1 Looking forward to try the new xl interface, I installed it, but there seem to be a few problems with xen-4.1 First
