Theora 1.0 final release
Theora is a video codec with a small CPU footprint that offers easy
portability and requires no patent royalties. While the Theora
bitstream format was standardized in 2004 and our beta releases have
been used by millions, this 1.0 release is an important milestone
reflecting the maturity and stability of the Theora codebase.
A number of leading multimedia web groups already support Theora.

Bitstream encoded huffman tables always the same
Hello all,
I've been working a little inside the Theora decoder when I found that
it seems that many videos had the very same huffman tables encoded into
their bitstreams (at least the ones that I could take my time to
dissecate). I found that the tables are listed as TH_VP31_HUFF_CODES in
the file huffenc.c. I tried to investigate a little bit more to see who
was setting the bitstream

a question about Bitstream Header.
Hi,
I have a question about the format of Theora bitstream header.
It seems to me that there are differences between the specification[1]
(version 2004 Oct 1) and its reference implementation in
libtheora 1.0alpha3 released at 2004 Jun 1.
I mean that... please refer to Section 6.2 'Identification Header Decode'
in that specification[1] and the function

Building theora
Hello,
I'm trying to get theora built. However there is not a page listing what
depdencies there are. Would it be possible to have a developers page
with the point release tarballs etc? (There is subversion access, but
I do not have subversion for my OS).
I could not find libtheora release, only an alpha, this wasn't very
clear, it has been released now I think.

Reading framerate, height, width from Theora file
I'd like to get basic information about a Theora file using C# .NET. How can
I get started on this?
I know there's oggz-info and other utilities, but I'd like to do this
straight from in .NET. What's the documentation page to find more on this?
Can I just read the first x bytes of the video corresponding to each field?
I found this page which I think is what I need, but I'm

Bitstream freeze
Hello,
I´m just curious: How far is Theora from a bitstream freeze?
From TheoraTodo:
"Derf has come up with a number of suggestions for improving the
flexibility of the bitstream based on his experimental encoder work.
These will be implemented, if not entirely supported by the reference
decoder, before alpha 3 is released."
Are those changes supposed to be the last adjustments?

Loop Filter Limits
I'm going to try documenting the various sections as I figure them out, in
order to help others who are trying to implement the Theora CODEC. I'll go
back and document the stuff I've already done, but I'm starting at the loop
filter limits because that is where I ran into my first uncertainties.
I found where libtheora did its loop filter limit decoding, and printed out the
