Speex on Nokia Symbian S60 phones
Is speex at this stage a good codec to use for real-time voice transmission over a direct CSD connection between two phones? Does anyone have any experience with using Speex on Nokia phones? If speex is not a good solution for this task, what would you recommend? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Speex on Nokia Symbian S60 phones

Did a quick search and saw ARM CPUs with speeds above 100 MHz. That should actually be enough for Speex, at least for narrowband. > If you are using CSD, like for a secure telephony solution >

Speex on Nokia Symbian S60 phones
It would be very nice to know about some good success without too much cpu issues on Nokia devices, i tried pjsip.org project on S60 FP1 E65 +200mhz ARM cpu with speex but don't had much luck in using it without having 100% cpu usage :( Please let us to know about your testing E65 CPU: http://www.nokia-tuning.net/index.php?s=processor Fabio Pietrosanti Jordan Dimov wrote: > Thank

Optimised ARM Ogg/Theora/Vorbis decoder
This is a note to announce the availability of "Ogg Theorarm", an optimised ARM implementation of decoding libraries for the Theora video code, and Vorbis audio codec from xiph.org. Full details of this code release can be found at <http://www.wss.co.uk/pinknoise/theorarm>, but highlights include: * Full speed playback of a 320x240x25fps clip with a 48kHz stereo audio track on

Speex on Nokia Symbian S60 phones
Thank you, guys. Most smartphones in production today run at ~300MHz and above. So this shouldn't be a problem. I'll try to compile speex for Symbian (I see it's been ported, but the Symbian port is somewhat out of date?) and I'll run it on a pair of Nokia N76 phones. I'll let you know how it works out. If someone has any further advice in this direction, I would deeply

theorarm build
Hi all-- I tried building the ARM-optimized theora codec from the theorarm- merge-branch, and encountered the following compile and runtime problems before getting something to run. If there is another way to build it, it would be nice to know, but I got the sense that its current state in svn is incomplete. I'm using a gcc cross-compiler for ARM on an x86 Linux PC. After running

Hi all. Can any one please help me with my problem. I wrote an application for Android, using Teorarm. It crushes when I try to play the video file. Compilation problem with theorarm
Hello all. I have got problem with compiling theorarm. I followed instructions posted earlier on this list (http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.multimedia.ogg.theora.devel/3066) but still got messages about undefined symbol: oc_frag_recon_inter2_arm. I have fixed Makefile.am by adding arm/ARMbitwise2.s \ arm/ARMdecode.s \ arm/ARMfilter.s \ arm/ARMfrag.s \ arm/ARMidct.s \ arm/ARMint.h \

Symbian/S60 encoding failures when building -O2/-O1 optimization and FIXED_POINT
Hello - We are building Speex 1.2rc1 on Symbian/S60 using the GNU csl-arm-2005Q1C tool chain provided in the S60 SDK. We build with the supplied config.h and define FIXED_POINT to 1. We found that the encoded audio is "garbled" when we build with GCC -O1 or -O2 optimization level with fixed point enabled. But if fixed point is enabled and no GCC optimization level is specified,

Bad results, encoding keynote presentation videos
Hello, hope you can help me. I want to encode a video, which I have exported from Keynote (a program for presentation like MS Power Point) using ffmpeg2theora for html5 web delivery. The result only plays very buggy - frames are dropped, the video hangs and vlc can not output the correct length of the ogv video. Here is the source and the result for download, if you want to reproduce it: the

1.0.15 -> 2.x upgrade for mass hosting environment
Hi all, We're looking at upgrading our current mail platform from 1.0.15 to 2.x to take advantage of the new director functionality. Our main concern is the number of mailboxes involved (circa. 300K) and the rebuilding of the index files, especially as it seems that once you've upgraded, rolling back requires the deletion and recreation of all indices. Has anyone worked on an

Speex realtime encoding/decoding "Real world" usage for Windows Mobile / Symbian device
hi all, I can claim that our hotfoon service has run millions of mobile voip minutes using speex on mobile and desktops. it works! earlier you needed more powerful cpus (until the integer port), however now the cpus are much faster and the code complexity is much lower. my only regret is of not being able to write some demo apps for speex on win mob. I will surely deliver it in june to settle this

Ogv file only plays in VLC / Can't be used by most tools.
Hi, I'm new here - thanks for having me. (Sorry if I'm in the wrong place or a noob.) I downloaded the Theora encoder sample (ver 1.1.1), modified it to encode a sequence of bitmaps, and created an OGV file. The OGV file plays fine in the latest VLC (1.0.5), but I can't do much else with it: I tried uploading to YouTube, and the video just comes out really corrupt:

python bindings to libtheora
Hi, in the past two days I wrote Python bindings to libtheora: http://github.com/certik/python-theora Currently it can read any ogv file (that seems to work quite well) and also encode to ogv (this mostly works, but there are some subtle issues to be fixed, I suspect I still have some bug in the way I half the dimensions of the Cb and Cr planes, so when you read ogv and write ogv, the resulting
