Dirac question
Hi again, could someone tell me why there is links to Dirac on the Xiph
wiki? The BBC takes care of Dirac, not Xiph? Is Xiph just a promoter?
Secondly, how would one choose to save the video in a lossless format with
Dirac, is there some interface (like a switch) in an application for this
to be achieved?

Lossless Video Codec
Hi, has the subject of creating a lossless video codec been considered? I
know Dirac is available, but it is a hybrid; saving a file and having to
set a compression setting is not very intuitive for a novice.
I suggest a lossless codec for the distant future, an idea of the codec's
name is: FLAV. Free Lossless Agile Video. The goals of it would be:
Provide lossless video, have a

Of myself spreading it? Or the petition.
Hi Chris, I remember you from hacks.mozilla (although I am an Opera
supporter). The webmaster of Xiph told me to tell the members and readers
about the petition, sadly it has only reached few because I cannot create
a post about it.

Updates to development?
Hi, again. Are there any updates to the development of Theora? Like a
version 1.2? I ask this because I want to be re-assured Theora is not just
sitting while people are choosing H.264...

Theora Petition on YouTube
Hi again,
Here is a petition against YouTube, this is requesting YouTube uses
open-standards to display media rather than H.264.

Ptalarbvorm Update?
To my recollection, there hasn't been any talk about Ptalarbvorm. Is
Ptalarbvorm development ditched? (I have noticed some commits for it every
now and then, but nothing like the amount of commits last year)

ogg dirac granulepos in oggz tools
Hi,
I'm wondering if the Dirac granulepos parsing in liboggz and display
in the oggz tools is currently correct, as I'd like to do a release of
these soon.
A couple of days ago David Schleef mentioned there were some problems.
David, is that currently true (ie. since David Flynn's recent updates
to support Dirac), and if so could you please explain what the
problems are, or point me

Didn't we decide YUV4MPEG should be 8 octets as well?

How Ogg mappings translate into the codecs parameter in Ogg media types
Hi all,
I am trying to set up the codecs table in the wiki and we have played
a bit with Dirac to find out what existing tools write into the
header.
The Schroedinger implementation by Fluendo uses (or used to use)
"KW-DIRAC" as the identifier in the Ogg header.
"BBCD" is the identifier of each of the Dirac data packages.
More recently, I read that the Dirac Sequence header

There's dirac.[ch] in the tools directory, though I haven't looked
at what's in there. Not sure why it's segregated like that.

Theora video support in Firefox and Opera
Firefox: 3.6 is out. What's new? I don't know (see :-( below)
Trying to play videos:

4:2:2 too, not sure about the 322x242 "not divisible by 16" - there is

[PATCH] liboggz: add dirac.c as a source, not as a lib
Hi,
this patch adds dirac.c as a source file to the oggz tools,
rather than a lib. The previous would try to compile at link
time, and would not include the right -I flags, and this will
fail when including config.h in dirac.c (which will be needed
when someone else posts a patch to get liboggz to build
on win32).
I'm not toally sure why dirac.c isn't just in the sources in
liboggz rather

BTW, we need to add another field out of the remaining reserved bits
