XiphQT with Thusnelda for QuickTime X
Any progress in this issue? Or is the whole XiphQT project dead? Any 64bit package of XiphQT for MacOSX Snow Leopard on its way? Any solution on its way, which works with Quicktime X on Snow Leopard and which doesn't urge/force you to install and use the old Quicktime 7 player? Any solution on its way, solving the /Library/Components problem on MacOSX Snow Leopard/Quicktime X? See: [theora]

XiphQT
Not sure where to file bugs against XiphQT... I have noticed that Theora encoded videos played through Quicktime (on Mac) using XiphQT are incorrectly reproducing the color of the video, and appear washed out. The same videos can be played via VLC and Firefox and are true to the original - so I don't believe it's a problem with the videos themselves or the encoding. I'm observing

flac in xiphqt seemengly behaves incorrectly playing 24bit files
Hello, upon installing flac1.2.1 and xiphqt0.1.9 component on a mac, 24bit flac files, whose integrity has been proven and which otherwise decode and reproduce flawlessly, play in quicktime player with wrong volume, i.e exactly 2^8 = 256 times too loud. I guess, the appropriate amplitude scaling routine might have been accidentally omitted somewhere in the code. In case this issue goes

XiphQT and OSX 10.9
Hi, After running 10.9 for a while, I noticed iTunes would no longer play my ogg files. I found a workaround suggesting that I force iTunes to run in 32 bit mode. After doing this, iTunes informs me that it can only be run in 64 bit mode. The reason appears to be that in 10.9, Quicktime APIs have been largely deprecated. Before I realized that was the cause, I was trying to build 64 bit

XiphQT / Theora Questions
Hello, I hope this is not an inappropriate list for this. This is the list suggested by http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/ I use Linux exclusively at the moment and do not plan on buying a Mac, but I am working on a CMS including html5 media support. Patent licensing costs forbid decoding proprietary video formats on the server for transcode into Ogg Theora so I am looking for a way that non

XiphQT doesn't export to Ogg Theora
Hi , I tried XiphQT with QuickTime to view all Ogg Theora files and works perfectly. I also try to import these Ogg Theora files into iMovie and works perfectly. But there is a lack of export Ogg Theora function into QuickTime. XiphQT component works well but you can't make Ogg Theora files. There is a way to open a new ticket for this request?

Installation of XiphQT component in Snow Leopard
Hi I installed the XiphQT component into a folder I made called "Components" inside my user "Library" folder. So far I can report it works and I have been able to play an ogg embedded audio file in a web page using QT. I was just wondering if the XiphQT component would still work if installed into the QuickTime folder in the main Library folder where component items

XiphQT MS Windows installer?
Hello, Are there any plans to make an installer for XiphQT? Because although it's easy for me to put the Xiph QuickTime Extension in QuickTime's QTComponents directory... I don't see most people doing this. So... any plans for a XiphQT installer on MS Windows? See ya -- Charles Iliya Krempeaux, B.Sc. <http://ChangeLog.ca/> Vlog Razor... Vlogging

"Live-CD" with Firefox + XiphQT?
Hy, I want to create a CD-ROM which includes Firefox 1.5.0.7 for MacOS X and is intended to be run solely on an intel-based Mac. It should already come with the XiphQT-plugin so that no installtion is needed. I want to be able to put the CD-ROM into the drive, double-click on "start-MacOS-Firefox.app" and have a fully operational Firefox with XiphQT-support - no matter if Firefox or

Does XiphQT plugin work in Safari?
Hi, I am trying to display a HTML 5 page with the <video> element and an OGG video in Safari. I use the sample video posted here: http://camendesign.com/code/video_for_everybody My sample page works fine in Safari 4.0.2 when I supply the MP4 video along with the OGG video: <video width="640" height="360" controls="controls"

transcoding to theora from quicktime using xiphqt
Hi, I'm trying to convert some quicktime files into Ogg/Theora using the Xiph QuickTime Components version 1.8. The end goal is to stream these files using apache httpd and the cortado applet (and hopefully the embedded players that will be in Firefox soon). Using iMovie DV on OS X 10.4.11 (intel) I'm able to export as an ogg movie, however the resultant file has problems with audio on

XiphQT with Thusnelda?
I noticed that the latest release of XiphQT predates the release of Theora 1.1. What's the situation with a release of XiphQT with the Theora 1.1 encoder in it? Is such a release planned? (With all this iPad vs. Open Video discussion going on, it would be so much easier to advocate Theora if Mac-using content creators could simply install a pre-built binary and get an up-to-date Theora
