Create CD from avi files
I have avi files in xVid format from my Camera, and I want to create a
Video CD that can be viewed on any CD player.
I have searched through the various repos (including rpmforage and
kbsingh) and did not find anything that would burn.
I have a number of programs that have no trouble displaying these
files. Including xzine, Avidemux, and VideoLAN-Client).
I unfortunately have to make these

New around - some questions (Cortado, editing Theora)
Hello,
I am maintaining different resources related to Ogg Theora, both as a
user and as a contributor to several local advocacy groups.
I had a couple of questions:
- Who should I ask / talk to about financing improvements to the Cortado
applet (namely: bigger / more visible controls for the seek functions) ?
- Are there any simple Ogg Theora editing tools or applications, similar
to avidemux

theora editing
hello theora-list,
i'd like to edit (especially crop) theora files I downloaded here and
there. But as far as I know, there is no theora editor.
Is there a cli theora files editing ?
How could I export .ogg files into whatever format that i can then edit
with software such as avidemux ?
thanks very much

Video and audio not in sync
I had some shows on tivo that I figured I wanted to keep on a CD in case
I might ever want to watch them again. (Not that you care, butthis
really is for my own personal use. I wouldn't have the bandwidth to
"share" this stuff even if I wanted to.)
So I downloaded a 1 hour show with TiVo ToGo, and I jumped through a few
hoops to "free the mpeg", and I got a nice 2 GB

ffmpeg2theora: issue converting from a png image list
Hi Jan, all
I am trying to generate a video introduction with a fade-in / fade-out
effect. To do this with ffmpeg2theora only, I generated a list of PNG
images: img001.png, img002.png... img299.png
The ffmpeg2theora man page says:
Encode a series of images:
ffmpeg2theora frame%06d.png -o output.ogv
That's exactly what I tried with the latest 0.24 release of ffmpeg2theora:

A/V sync. problems with NTSC DVD source
Hi,
I decided to try Theora and encoded a PAL DVD. I was very pleased with
the result. It's better than "DiVX" for the same bitrate, I think, and
the audio is clearly superior to MP3 audio.
However, I'm having serious troubles encoding NTSC DVDs and getting the
video and audio durations to match.
I read some messages on this list about such problems and so what I am
doing

theora_encode is adding vertical pixels
I am using theora_encode along with ffmpeg:
ffmpeg -an -s 1920x1080 -r 24 -i bigbuckbunny.mp4 -vcodec rawvideo \
-pix_fmt yuv420p -f rawvideo - 2>/dev/null \
| ffmpeg -an -f rawvideo -s 1920x1080 -r 24 -i - -f yuv4mpegpipe -
2>/dev/null \
|* theora_encode /dev/stdin 2>/dev/null *| ffmpeg -y -f ogg -i - \
-f mp4 -i bigbuckbunny.mp4 -map 0:0 -map 1:1 -vcodec copy \
-acodec libvorbis -ab

AVI Theora?
Hello,
I'm an adventure?games dev, and I'm trying to compress my video to a sort
of "AVI Theora". I want to use AVI instead of Ogg as the container
format, but retain the Theora compressed core.
The reason I want to use AVI as the container is rather too complicated to
explain, and I actually don't entirely understand it myself.
Is this possible?
Thanks,
? James Wilson

Piping AVI to ffmpeg2theora
I wish to transcode an AVI from 29fps to 15fps theora. I have tried many
combinations.
The nearest I have so far is to:
1)
ffmpeg -i input.avi -f avi -vcodec rawvideo -acodec pcm_s16le -r 15 -ar
22050 -ac 1 intermediate.avi
then
2)
./ffmpeg2theora-0.15.linux.bin -f avi -c1 -H 22050 -o out.ogg
intermediate.avi
This gives me an output I want, however, the intermediate uncompressed
stage

optimization of theora contract job
Theora-devs:
I am in seek of a theora (but possibly vorbis/ogg/ffmpeg) dev to optimize the encoding in a realtime software product.
We do live encoding and transcode into ogg/theora/vorbis at various resolutions and frame rates. The higher resolutions cannot process in realtime and we are pushing the boundaries of hardware (cpu) encoding with the existing theora/ffmpeg.
Right now we have to

Encoding from fifo's
Hello, I'm new to the list, so if this is an FAQ, please point me to the
relevant docs.
I'm playing with Theora, to see what kind of quality I can expect (I
realise its not for production use yet). I've download the source from
CVS, and got it to build, with the example encoder and player.
While trying to find something to serve as a good source of input, I
decided I'd use a

Krad Pipe To
https://gist.github.com/oneman/5394332
This is a little hack for sending -live encoded- WebM streams to Icecast
from STDIN.
An example (I was using libav from git, params likely different between
libav, ffmpeg etc programs)
avconv -v debug -f video4linux2 -s 320x240 -r 10 -i /dev/video0 -vcodec
libvpx -threads 2 -vb 128k -r 10 -f webm pipe:1 | krad_pipe2

Fwd: Vorbis-java wav-ogg encoder produces distorted OGG file
Hi,
I was really interested in the java version of the same since I wanted to
use it in my java application in a platform independent way.
Anybody who have managed to use the java port to encode wav to ogg, this is
only audio, can assist me to solve my problem. I have been looking at the
code and the svn but no updates seem to be available. Some guidance on what
could be the problem on the source

Video Editing
This is kind of a new area for me so I thought I would get the lists opinion.
I have a avi video that I need to edit. The main thing that I need to
accomplish is to maybe cut the top 1/3 of the frame and blur out a few
faces. What would you guys recommend for an app that would accomplish
this? Thanks in advance for any info.
