Fwd: Theora developer question.
Hi Beorn, 1. replace "-v 7" to "--optimize --two-pass --soft-target -V 2000" you will get about 200MB file size with no changes in quality. 2. try to use libtheora ptalarbvorm, it is in alpha state but has some improvements. You can find comparison here: http://people.xiph.org/~xiphmont/demo/theora/demo9.html if you use ubuntu 10.10 you can download precompiled libtheora and

[LLVMdev] PHINode containing itself causes segfault when compiling Blender OpenCL kernel with R600 backend
Hi! I'm trying to run Blender using Mesa OpenCL implementation on a radeonsi card. First the kernel didn't want to compile, but that was caused by a bug in it (they were using . instead of -> in 1 place), and after fixing this bug I've got the kernel to compile... ...But after that, LLVM started to crash during translation of IR into shader code with R600 backend.

ffmpeg2theora tool
I've been encoding with ffmpeg.exe. Due to the muxing issue, I tried ffmpeg2theora, but I ran into some issues 1. it fails on 1080p content. 1920x1080. 1920x800 is okay. 2. I have raw yuv. in ffmpeg I use -s 1920x1080 to specify the source size. ffmpeg2theora doesnt seem to have a way to accept width/height for the raw yuv (420). So I need to do an additional step of muxing it into a

Dovecot IMAP INBOX Namespace iPhone
Hi Guys, Our ISP who is hosting our email, recently moved our domain's email onto a new mail server, which is apparently running Dovecot, and has support for IMAP. * OK Dovecot ready. Most of the email clients have not had a problem moving from the old server to the new server. But some have! Including the iPhone users. The problem is that the INBOX is not directly accessible through the

I ruined windows
I am dual-booting windows and linux. I switched over almost entirely to linux. I wanted to render a model I made in 3ds max, so I used mount --bind to use my real C drive as my wine C drive. Unfortunately, that ruined windows. I eventually got the model to render in blender, but I still want windows to work. How can I fix windows?

Markus McLaughlin Intro
My name is Markus McLaughlin, I am coming on board the CentOS EDUcation SIG Project. I want to bring my resourcefulness and talents to this very ambitious project. Debian has already made available its own EDU distribution. It's time for CentOS to "step up," and offer its own service. Windows and MACs have dominated the education market far too long. It's time to bring

Theora player for Nokia Series 60
I've made a start writing a Theora player for Series 60 phones (mostly Nokia phones, but some Samsung and Sony Ericsson ones too). Download here: http://symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net/OgvPlay/OgvPlay_010.zip I've been using Big Buck Bunny, Elephants Dream and a few other ogv files for testing. I've uploaded 320x180 versions of those here:

ov_pcm_seek to sample zero of Theora/Vorbis file hangs
Hi all, I'm having a little trouble with a Vorbis decoder hanging (actually hard looping the CPU) when I call ov_pcm_seek(&vorbis_file, 0) on a multiplexed theora/vorbis file. It appears to be the vorbisfile library that has the problem. The call to ov_pcm_seek never returns. Seeking in non-multiplexed, including chained, files is OK. Seeking to other values, including sample 1, works

Unity3D works. .blend import doesn't
Unity3D seems to be working in wine fairly well, despite a few non-critical problems. One such problem is that when a .blend is imported, Unity complains with "Blender could not be found" and instructs me to "Make sure that Blender is installed and the .blend file has Blender as its 'Open with' application!" I installed the windows version of Blender in wine (first
