limit source bitrate
Hi guys ,
I'm trying to limit the bitrate of a source client.
I'm using the icecast 2.3.1 and the 2.3.2 , but in the documentation ,
in particular in the limit section I don't see nothing.
So I'm asking to you :
There is a way to limit to a max bitrate , the bitrate that a client can
use for a particular mountpoint ?
Big thanks for the help

Theora & Vorbis on your mobile phone
Hey guys + gals,
Would you know where to point me to for an open source or commercial implementation of Theora & Vorbis for your mobile phone?
Maybe as a Symbian app? Maybe a Java midlet?
I'd like to be able to download & play video files to the mobile as well as maybe stream them too? Am I asking too much? :-)
Thanks in advance for your help!
Callum.

problems streaming theora with oggfwd and icecast2
Hi guys ,
I used ffmpeg , and ffmpeg2theora , with oggfwd for streaming to the
icecast2 streaming server without any problems.
But now , only works if I use ffmpeg2theora.
I try with one of the latest svn version and one that I consider "
stable" because is ok for all my needs , and they don't work.
This is the complete shell output
ffmpeg -i /home/pierpaolo/Scrivania/31.mpg

limit source bitrate
Hi Karl ,
I' using your latest branch , I downloaded it here
http://www.icecast.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/.
I try your instruction , adding the <limit-rate> tag before the
closure of </mount> tag.
Now I'm trying using the value 300000 ( are byte?) 300K (using the big K
not k and seems to runs very good) and soon I will use the value 0.3M or
1M or 1.3 M
If I use a bitrate

Processing library based on Cortado
Hi,
I wrote a Processing.org library based on Cortado. Maybe the Cortado developers are interested in it.
At the end of November I sent a question to this list asking about the licensing of Cortado and its libraries (see http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/theora-dev/2009-November/004015.html). As I wanted to create a LGPL library, I rewrote the package com.fluendo.utils, I don't use

Hi guys , I ' m reading the icecast documentation , in particular here:
http://www.icecast.org/docs/icecast-2.3.1/icecast2_config_file.html#mount

on-connect
State a program that is run when the source is started. It is passed a
parameter which is the name of the mountpoint that is starting. The

Usage of on-connect and on-disconnect
Hi Guys ,
Now I try the script using the full path of the programs (/usr/bin ,
/usr/sbin ecc..) and all is running.
Now I have a little problem:
If I insert in the on connect or disconnect tag this script
/etc/icecast/bin/script.sh
and the script is this
#!/bin/bash
/bin/echo $1 > /etc/icecast/log/1.txt

Cortado status controls in IE6
I have need to make an .ogv file available on IE6. I am using
cortado_latest.jar to make this happen. Hovering over the playing video
causes the status bar to appear as expected. In the status bar the play
button, pause button, and stop button all work as expected. However the
slider has no effect. I have examined and tried several of the parameters
but see nothing that would make the slider

Your ideas ...
I am looking for ideas on how to best webcast public meetings. The
general idea is to allow folks to easily send their live or recorded
meeting audio up to a server via their browser.
My goal is to present an alternative to more expensive video webcasting
for small local government and community groups that want to "double"
their audience from 10 people a the room with a net

Another web-based vorbis player
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
This one looks promising:
https://core.fluendo.com/flumotion/trac/browser/cortado/trunk/README
It is JS-controllable, so if I can force myself to sit down and do some web hacking, I might be able to create a myspace-like player that'll let people select different tracks to listen to.
It's not flash, but it seems pretty lightweight.
