Theora DirectShow filters assembly
Hello everybody, I intend to use Theora as a live video codec in a research project. This project is based on live video broadcast over a poor/slow link, which means lots of frames lost and low bandwith. Until now, it used XViD codec for video compression, which is a working solution but a lot blocky. I made some test with Theora and it looks better in a similar situation. Now, I would like to

Project announcement : opensource Vorbis DirectShow decoder filter
Hi, i have the pleasure to announce that a start was undertaken to be able to replace the 2 existing closed source Ogg Vorbis DirectShow filters for Windows. The Corecodec team around their main DirectShow developer, Christophe 'Toff' Paris, has released the sourcecode for a working and tested Vorbis DirectShow filter on the Corecodec.org opensource community.

DirectShow PushSource with theora encoder and Ogg muxer filters
Hi all, I am trying to test DirectShow PushSource example from the SDK with Theora encoder and Ogg muxer (DirectShow filters of course) by using GraphEdit tool. My goal is capturing the screen as video by taking snaphot bitmaps continuosly (what PushSource eaxmple does) and giving them to the Theora encoder through the DS pipeline (next goal is transmitting this video **). My DirectShow graph is

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow decoder filter - ongoing development ?
Hi, ome of you may know me, i am one of the project admins of a video related opensource project. For playback of Vorbis audio tracks in movies, if being played on M$ via DirectShow, we are currently using the Vorbis decoder filter from Tobias Waldvogel. However, we found out that this decoder filter is not acting DirectShow compliant with respect to handling of timestamps. When passing the

DirectShow filters ?
Hi! First , on page http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 "Other Software Which Supports Ogg Vorbis" there is a link to http://mediaxw.org (Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters) The page is gone. It has a notice that it moved to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw I sent this note to feedback@vorbis.com. Second, that project is suspended. But there is another one at

Problems with Theora DirectShow filters
Hi, I'm trying to capture video and audio from a webcam in order to encode it with the Theora and Speex DirectShow-filters. For audio, this filter graph plays fine: http://www.huitl.de/mic-speexenc-speexdec-out.png. The video part is problematic. Please have a look at http://www.huitl.de/cam-theoraenc-theoradec-out.png. 1. The webcam provides the color formats RGB24, I420 and IYUV. The

New Directshow filters preview...
I have been developing some directshow filters for ogg, and vorbis and speex... currently i have an ogg demux filter and a speex/vorbis decoding filter. In this pre-release only vorbis is operational... but the speex decoder is pretty much done... i jsut need to tweak the demux filter so that it can negotiate a speex connection with the other filter. Just though some people might find them useful

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

My issues with ogg and directshow...
Listening to the meeting on granule pos tonight/today it became clear that the issues everyone is concerned with for the most part don't affect my implementations and the issues i have pretty much don't affect anyone else... and in the cases where they overlap, the reasoning seems to be different. And since everyone else has had a lot more time to consider all these issues and i'm

Connect Theora DirectShow encoder filter to decoder filter
Hi all, This may sound like a weird problem, but I am trying to create a DirectShow graph (using the Theora DirectShow filters from http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/) where I have a video source, which is connected to the Theora encoder, which is then connected to a Theora decoder. The problem is that this doesn't seem to work, those filters refuse to connect to each other. Now obviously

OGG/Vorbis DirectShow
Hi! On http://www.vorbis.com/software.psp?pid=2 ( Other Vorbis software for windows ) there is a link called "Ogg Vorbis DirectShow Filters" pointing to http://sf.net/projects/mediaxw That project is dead ! But there is another vorbis DS project at http://tobias.everwicked.com/oggds.htm , which is actively developed. How about updating the vorbis.com page to point to this DS-vorbis

Ogg Vorbis DirectShow status ?
Hi! What is the status of DirectShow support (read: playy vorbis in Windows Media Player 9 or 10 ) ? The vorbis.com web pages only link to some ancient web pages (xwmedia and tobias). I remember there was a wiki page about setting this up (partially written by me), but can't find it any more. Was the idea of playing ogg/vorbis in DS applications dropped ? Regards, David

Directshow filters
I am looking into switching a DirectShow based application to opus. Does anyone know of opus DirectShow encoder/decoder filters? (preferably under a BSD like license). Seems like LAV[1] supports opus but I am looking for something simpler than a mega-filter. Directshow in wine
Hello I'm trying to make a video subtitling program (my own) run on Wine, and mostly i have succesfully gotten it up and running, everything seems to be working apart from the cruicial video part. The video part of the application is running directshow and Wines implementation of Directshow seems to be severely lacking, so my question is: Is anybody working on that part of wine? or should i

Ogg DirectShow Filters are searching for a new maintainer
Sorry for the heavy cross-posting, but this is important. Zen Kavanaugh, who used to develop the Ogg DirectShow filters (see http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/) has crossed over to commercial life and is now working at Microsoft where he is not allowed to continue working on open source media technology. It's congratulations to Zen - but the DirectShow filters are now searching for a new

Theora Directshow Filter
The first release of a theora decode filter for directshow is available. Still no doubt buggy as hell... but it can now play all my limited collection of test videos ok. Alpha 3 vids only. See the already known bugs on the page. www.illiminable.com/ogg/ Enjoy, Zen.

--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To

[PATCH][RFC] Adapt Theora frame rate to DirectShow clock
Hello, Here are my patches to adapt the Theora frame rate of the encoded stream to the DirectShow clock. Theora has a fixed frame rate for a video stream, contrary to a DirectShow stream. When Theora do not know the frame rate of a video device, it defaults to 30 fps, and the resulting stream playbacks too fast or too slow depending on the video device frame rate. For example, a DV cam (PAL, 25
