On2 VP3 codec for Intel macs
Hi all,
It's been a few years since I encoded a number of movies using the
VP3 codec (v3.2) on my Quicksilver PPC. Now I have a new Intel mac and I'd
like to play them. However, it seems that the codec offered on On2's
website is only for the PPC architecture. Does anyone know a workaround or
some other codec that works on the MacIntel platform? I'm using Quicktime
Pro 7.

Modifying astcc
Hi:
Astcc is working fine, except for one thing. It
doesn't give the called party enough time to answer
the phone. If nobody picks up in two rings, astcc
reports back no answer and hangs-up. The only instant
NOANSWER "value" was mentioned in astcc.agi script is:
elsif ($res eq "NOANSWER") {
$res =
&mystreamfile("astcc-noanswer");

Thusnelda Video Quality
Wow.
Let me say that again, just in case you missed it.
Wow.
The quality looks to be on par with what I get out of H.264, but
Theora has the added benefit of free and open source software with no
patent worries so I can use it with a clean conscience. Thanks,
everyone.

Quadbri Cellular Issue
Hello everybody, and first of all sorry for my poor English.
I'm having trouble with Quadbri installed on Asterisk
1.2.17-BRIstuffed-0.3.0-PRE-1y-e. Everything is working fine, except calling
to switched off or "out of coverage" cell phones. In this case I have to
wait 40 seconds until Asterisk tell me that "all circuits are busy now"
instead of receive cell phone

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian.
Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP.
I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska.
The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the
illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the
codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the
codecs available. This is much preferable of course

theora on the nintendo wii
As anyone considered contacting nintendo regarding theora and ogg
support to the upcoming nintendo wii console? apparently they won't be
including dvd support out of the box due to licensing costs so it could
be a good move both for theora and ogg to gain more widespread
acceptance and nintendo to add media center capabilities to their next

Problems with Theora DirectShow filters
Hi,
I'm trying to capture video and audio from a webcam in order to encode it with
the Theora and Speex DirectShow-filters. For audio, this filter graph plays
fine: http://www.huitl.de/mic-speexenc-speexdec-out.png.
The video part is problematic. Please have a look at
http://www.huitl.de/cam-theoraenc-theoradec-out.png.

Question about number of frames in ogg/theora video file.
Hello.
How can I tell the number of frames in ogg/theora video file, without actually reading the file? Or, how can I tell
its playing time (which is basically the same thing).
I didn't find the information in THEORA_STATE, THEORA_INFO, but with the codec installed (illuminable oggcodecs),
Windows Media Player shows the ogg/theora file playing time, before it starts playing the file.

Directshow filters 0.64.7878
Updated again... theora works and seeks properly (not to keyframe) in WMP 9
and 10.
You can encode from a bunch of onew input types like RGB32, RGB24, IYUV etc.
And fixed a bug that was stopping the filters being used in a activeX
control in an IE browser.

Enjoy,

Quality of vp3.2 codec?
How good is the video compression in vp3.2?
For example, how does it compare (bit rate & quality) to mpeg1, mpeg2,
Divx, real Video 8+, Windows Media, etc. etc.
It being open source is nice and all, but if it can't be reasonably
competitive then there isn't much point to it.
I just haven't seen anything that compares vp32 to anything else.

Using the VP3 ENCODER in a DIRECTSHOW GRAPH wit defined quality and BANDWIDTH - HOW?
Hello,
Due to some licensing changes (and because I actually want to promote
this, too) I want to replace our usage of Intel Indeo 5 with VP3 in a
video conferencing pplication we are just developing (check:
http://www.stnadby24.no/ for infos (english language) on the
application).
My problem is this: I need to define at least the bandwidth. I am
feeding full frames from the camera with a given
