similar to: Ready for real use?

Hi all, It's been a few years since I encoded a number of movies using the VP3 codec (v3.2) on my Quicksilver PPC. Now I have a new Intel mac and I'd like to play them. However, it seems that the codec offered on On2's website is only for the PPC architecture. Does anyone know a workaround or some other codec that works on the MacIntel platform? I'm using Quicktime Pro 7.

Hi: Astcc is working fine, except for one thing. It doesn't give the called party enough time to answer the phone. If nobody picks up in two rings, astcc reports back no answer and hangs-up. 28th February I am working with Asterisk 1.2.15. I have configured sip.conf for two soft phones (I am using Xlite).I have installed the Bluez stack and so far, i manage to make a phone call from a soft phone to a GSM network. Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

As anyone considered contacting nintendo regarding theora and ogg support to the upcoming nintendo wii console? apparently they won't be including dvd support out of the box due to licensing costs so it could be a good move both for theora and ogg to gain more widespread acceptance and nintendo to add media center capabilities to their next gen console

Hello. How can I tell the number of frames in ogg/theora video file, without actually reading the file? Or, how can I tell its playing time (which is basically the same thing). I didn't find the information in THEORA_STATE, THEORA_INFO, but with the codec installed (illuminable oggcodecs), Windows Media Player shows the ogg/theora file playing time, before it starts playing the file.

How good is the video compression in vp3.2? For example, how does it compare (bit rate & quality) to mpeg1, mpeg2, Divx, real Video 8+, Windows Media, etc. etc. It being open source is nice and all, but if it can't be reasonably competitive then there isn't much point to it.
