Hello. I have been trying to add rpmforge as a repository, but yum does

ORC JIT Weekly #21 -- OrcV1 removal, Removable code, and Remote TargetProcessControl
Hi All,
Everything is landing all at once, just not in the mainline... yet.
As discussed in
http://lists.llvm.org/pipermail/llvm-dev/2020-September/144885.html: OrcV1
will be removed very soon. I have posted a branch with the removal,
"orcv1-removal", in my llvm fork at https://github.com/lhames/llvm-project.
In addition to removing OrcV1, the orcv1-removal branch also contains a

Can't install Kaffeine from RPMForge repo
Hi,
I'm currently fiddling with the KDE desktop just to see if it suits our users
better than the default GNOME.
I configured the RPMForge repos and launched a 'yum install kaffeine'. After
packages are downloaded, I get the following error:

kaffeine installation
Anyone got kaffeine installed. When I do a
#yum install kaffeine
I get a transaction check error with kde-libs.
Is this a known issue and is their a workaround?

Other extension for Ogg Theora then "ogg"
Hi,
The standards for audio and video to be used by the Wikimedia projects
(like Wikipedia) are Ogg Vorbis and Ogg Theora.
The use of Ogg Vorbis files is growing fast. For now the use of video is
still very limited.
The problem is that an audio and an video file looks the same because of
the same file extension. This is very annoying because you do not know
what for file it is when you look at

RFC: Proposing an LLVM subproject for parallelism runtime and support libraries
At Google we're doing a lot of work on parallel programming models for
CPUs, GPUs and other platforms. One place where we're investing a lot are
parallel libraries, especially those closely tied to compiler technology
like runtime and math libraries. We would like to develop these in the
open, and the natural place seems to be as a subproject in LLVM if others
in the community are

RFC: Proposing an LLVM subproject for parallelism runtime and support libraries
Hi Hal,
Thanks for taking a look at the proposal.
The current version of StreamExecutor has partial support for a "host"
platform which performs work on the CPU. It's interface is the same as the
that of the CUDA platform discussed in the design documentation, but right
now it does not support launching user-defined kernels, so it is very
limited. The host platform does manage a

RFC: Proposing an LLVM subproject for parallelism runtime and support libraries
Thanks for your input, Hal.
I think that having support for running host-side tasks makes this library
much more useful, not only for acceleratorless systems, but even for those
with accelerators (especially if you can place dependency edges between the
host tasks and the accelerator tasks).
Based on your comments, I think that supporting host-side tasks sounds like
something that should be

wav to flac corruption
I have exactly the same problem.
I encoded a BWF file to flac and then then decoded back to wav, using
--keep-foreign-metadata, and I ended up with a bit-perfect copy of the
original BWF. So I was fairly confident that the flac encoding is
working correctly, the problem definitely appears to be with the flac
players.
Unfortunately it seems that the majority of flac players cannot play

Stream Test
Hi
Seeing as other people are posting streams to test, the system I have been
developing has an Ogg/Vorbis/Theora stream that you can watch. I would
appreciate any feedback to what players can play it and which players have
problems. (I am using Icecast as the streaming server)
So far I have found VideoLan plays the stream very well. MPlayer was ok,
but wasn't as good at buffering.

Snipping the beginning off Theora files
Hello all,
I'm sure that this must have been answered by someone in the past, but I
couldn't find it.
I have downloaded the Theora files of the 6uadec Gnome conference from:
http://stream.fluendo.com/archive/6uadec/
While it is great that they have them available, most of them seem to
have a lot of video of empty room before the speaker starts (sometimes
20 minutes or so). I am wanting

PSA: Parallel STL algorithms available in LLVM
It's hard to say. By definition it appears undefined (in the sense that
the TS literally does not define it), but on the other hand it is a TS and
this issue would (hopefully) come up and be specified before it made it to
standardization.
Supporting recursive parallel calls certainly seems like desirable
behavior, so from my point of view it would be nice to make sure it works.

Audio CD problem on laptop VGN-SZ61MN
Is there anyone out there who has installed FreeBSD on the above Sony
laptop ?
Both ''cat filename > /dev/dsp0.0'' or ''vlc cdda:///dev/acd0@1 are OK.
If I run ''cdcontrol -f /dev/acd0 play'', there is no sound.
But the output of ''cdcontrol -f /dev/acd0 status audio'' is alright.
(same behaviour for cd0 instead of acd0)
And the output
