Samba 4 and DFS replication
I realize that Samba 4 doesn't yet support DFS replication. But my question is if Samba 4 as an AD server supports DFS replication within the environment. For example, if all we have are Samba 4 servers for AD domain controllers, and we have 2+ Windows servers doing DFS between each other (where the Samba 4 file server isn't involved at all), is that supported?

Samba 4 and freeradius
Hi,
My goal is to make use of samba 4 and freeradius to authenticate user to use wifi network (WPA2 enterprise).
The setup is to setup Samba 4.0.3 in machine A and setup freeradius in machine B.

drs showrepl - Failed to bind to UUID - Undetermined error
Thanks Andrew.
No - it was my fault for including an easily-solved side query in the same
email as the main query.. :) I haven't solved the original issue, which is
that 'samba-tool drs showrepl' runs on two of my DCs but not on the third.
I don't know if anything else also doesn't work, e.g. some aspect of
replication I haven't observed yet - but the only problem I can

I did but these are the last lines. It ends with ?raise e? also in the shell.
I also ran it on the other DCs and they all end with ?raise e?.

skip chunk if "DRS linked attribute for GUID - DN not found"
Hello everyone,
i try to use Samba RODC(4.6.5) with W2K8R2. Windows AD has around 35000 objects. My Samba machine is small one (ARM 32bit CPU) with only 2GB physical memory, so i can’t join to the domain because of expensive memory usage.
To solve this Problem, i decide to replicate only critical objects and then let samba_kcc to get other objects.

Domain join failure - error during DRS repl ADD: No objectClass found in replPropertyMetaData
Hello Colleagues and Mentors,
I'm attempting to join a Samba AD DC that I compiled with samba 4.3.1 on Ubuntu 14.04.3 to a group of three AD DCs, also running Samba on Ubuntu 14.04.3, but each of them is running Canonical's pre-compiled Samba package, v4.1.6.
This already-existing domain has had it's schema updated to include Kerio Connect-specific schema (to support our mail

No more replication for new DC
The issue is (almost) solved.
As shown the previously explained process to repair, nothing's clear about
that resolution. Perhaps just the big clean-up was necessary, perhaps
synchronisation of a first DC was necessary, no idea.
Anyway replication is working, almost.
On 4 DCs among 5:
ldbsearch -H $sam objectclass=* dn | tail -3
# returned 50968 records
# 50965 entries
# 3 referrals

I agree, we need more logs here. Turn up the log level and see what
the error causing that final error is.
However, take care not to publish confidential details like staff names

Update the destination to 4.7.4 when this is released in a few days.
I hope this helps,

Looking at that line in your version of Samba may give you some idea
why it failed.

[PATCH] Re: Failing replication
Thanks. At this stage is looks like a bug in the repl_meta_data
module.
Try the attached patch.
Can I name you in the bug and is there any affiliation (eg employer)
you would like named?
I've filed a bug and will file a merge request once I have a test to
confirm this.

Replication with a self-signed certificate
Hello,
I just configured a three-site DCs setup with Samba 4.6.0, and
replication worked great.
But then I added a custom cert to one of the DCs to authenticate
various apps against it. I used this wiki https://wiki.samba.org/index.
php/Configuring_LDAP_over_SSL_(LDAPS)_on_a_Samba_AD_DC
Now I can authenticate my apps over LDAPS against my DC, but broke
replication.
How do I need to configure

Hi Andrew,
I applied your patch to the Debian packages of Louis.
Do you happen to know in which package it will end up? Tried samba and samba-dsdb-modules but the error remains the same.

Failing replication
Hello,
we could need some help resolving a replication issue we experience since one week.
We have 1 DC in the cloud running Windows Server 2019 with DFL/FFL 2008R2.
We have 3 sites with 5 DCs running Samba on Debian Buster in total replicating the AD from Windows.
Since one week the replication state shows the following error:
