rsync 3.1.1 (and HEAD) grinds to a halt over sshfs
Hi Devs and others, First, many thanks for 14+ years of personal usage rsync. I'm trying to rsync to an sshfs mount point instead of using ssh transport. The reason for this is that I'm using encfs to create files which land on the (untrusted) destination encrypted. After witnessing stalled rsync progress, a barely utilized internet connection and and idle CPU, I stripped this down

pdflush kernel thread pops up every 10 seconds or so and video decoding grinds to a halt for 1/2 a second
Hi. A friend of mine was doing real-time video decoding on Fedora Core 13 and he had a performance glitch (1/2 a second freeze) every 5-10 seconds. "top" showed flush-253:0 process at the moment of the freeze. Major device number 253 corresponds to device-mapper. I advised my friend to re-install his FC13 without LVM, to see if the glitch is related to LVM. After re-installing FC13

krige and polygon limit problem
Dear all, I'm new on R and this mailing list. We work on spatial rainfall estimation with R and Grass. We have a problem with the krige function from the sgeostat package. We would like to limit the estimated area with a polygon limit. I use a 50 points polygon to describe my work area. The krige function work quiet well without limit. But if I use this option I have the following error

Hi there everybody, We are running Asterisk 1.2.1 with a TE410P card attached to one PRI ISDN line, and many SIP phones. Every time some tried to ring in we got: Jan 4 14:56:32 WARNING[896] chan_zap.c: Ring requested on channel 0/5 already in use on span 4. Hanging up owner. This happens even though no

still have problem with krige and border option [end]
> both "_ "and "<-" are assignment operators well, I've changed it in my script, but the result is the same. > what do you get if you call > > in.polygon(grid2.point$x,grid2.point$y,polygon$x,polygon$y) That's it ! In fact all my points in grid2.point where xy inverted. And I had no points in polygon. It was really a stupid mistake. Thanks for all !

still have problem with krige and border option
Dear all, I would like to estimate rainfall with the krige function. First, I produce a polygon of my region of interest (where poly_test.txt is a x,y suite of points defining a polygon, obtained with the grass v.out.ascii command) : user>border_limite<-read.table("/home/lionel/rwork/poly_test.txt",header=FALSE) user>polygone<-list(x=border_limite[,1],y=border_limite[,2])

Running SSL Rails app on apache server already in use
SSL and Rails is proving to be somewhat confusing and difficult to get going for me. I already have an HTTPS apache instance running off my domain -- legacy secure web app. (lives at https://www.mydomain.com say) Now I want to develop a new app on the same secured domain with rails (out of a subdir, symlinked or something at https://www.mydomain.com/railsapp ) But how can this work? To get that

Dump problem on USB drive
Hi. I am running CentOS 4.3 on a small home server just dishing up mail, music etc. to the household. I had been doing irregular backups to a 160GB USB external drive /dev/sda1 mounted as /mnt/backup using tar. Then I read somewhere that dump was better so I tried that after clearing the drive (formatted as ext3). dump -0u -f /dev/sda1 /shared took a while to finish but gave no errors however ls

Did I screw up my PDC on this Terminal Services problem?
Hi All, I am upgrading my samba server from a workgroup to PDC server. I am doing this to make a Windows 2008 Terminal server happy. Eventually there will be a bank of them (thank you Virtual Box). Anyway, in my test bed, I have a Samba PDC (newly updated to PDC), a Windows 2008 server, and XP-Pro-SP3. Both Windows machines are able to join the domain and log in as users only in the Samba

apache httpd, webdav, ssl - something is wrong, but what?
Hi, happy new year! Today I set up a new web(dav) server for our .ical-System (phpIcalendar) and copied the config and data files from the old server. to_absolute_uri typo in 0.6.3?
I just started using Mechanize, and started using Ruby about thirty seconds before that, but one of the sites I''m scraping does a redirect on form submission to a badly-formed relative URL: index.cfm?action=bing&bang=boom=1|a=|b=|c= (etc.) Interestingly, Mechanize 0.6.2 handled this OK, but in 0.6.3 this causes a URI::InvalidURIError exception from URI.parse() in to_absolute_uri

acts_as_taggable and paginate?
Hi there, I''ve been trying to paginate over a list of members that all share a tag in common using the acts_as_taggable plugin. The regular way of paginating over a collection doesn''t seem to work with acts_as_taggable. Here''s what my method looks like that takes in a tag name, finds all the members that share the tag and then displays all the members. Nothing too fancy

Problem with GET args and UTF-8 encoding (output of Rack::Utils.unescape() ?)
Hi folks, Here''s my basic issue, hopefully this is clear. I''m trying to submit some UTF-8 values in my query string, but they are coming out mangled on the other end. It *seems* like the problem is that what Rack::Utils.unescape() pushes out gets converted to UTF-8 somewhere in the chain (using 3.0.7, and Ruby 1.9.2, by the way), and it''s mangling characters which are
