Cannot Ping after successful connection?
I apologize for the TLDR-style email, but I wanted to demonstrate that I have done a lot of work (11 hours and at least 8 tutorials including the tinc docs) before asking for help. My basic problem is this: tinc appears to properly connect and authenticate the client to the server, but I cannot ping or access resources. (yes. I know there is no 'server' in tinc, but 'server'

Question: Publishing R/S objects with WebServices (SOAP/WSDL)
Hello, Can anyone tell me if there is a package which will allow me to write a package in R, then publish the package using WebServices? The idea is that I want to be able to pass a data set into R, have R perform the calculations, then send the result back to either a .Net application or a LIMS BASIC application. So far I see many packages that allow R to consume WebServices, but I haven't

Dovecot and kmail IMAP resources
For some time now I have been trying to get IMAP resources working on KMail. I have followed the docs from kde, but they tell how to configure cyrus IMAP, so I've had to learn as I went along. After a lot of help from the postfix list I now have a working sasl. The ability of the user 'groupware' to log in with PLAIN has been checked in a telnet session. Everything in KMail has

OT: Large corporate email systems - Exchange vs open source *nix based
Hello, There has been some whispers about considering migrating our mail systems to Exchange Server. I want to try to nip this in the bud. I would like to ask for some help with providing some kind of comparison of large(r) commercial companies use of email systems... specifically, those using Microsoft Exchange Server, vs those using open source Linux/Unix based systems, including even

samba groupware integration
Hi, I'd like to install a groupware server in our institute and looking for a software, which connects samba and the groupware server, for example for authentication (may be LDAP) and (more importent) to see the samba shares (user and groups) in the groupware web-front-end. I've talked this week to the open-xchange people at CeBit, and if I understud them right, the samba integration is

run R under linux
Dear all, Our department uses the linux system and we are not allowed to submit job directly. We must make a batch to submit through "qmon". so, I make a foo.sh file, which only contains one line: nohup R --vanilla < foo.txt > foo.results foo is all my codes. It is a simulation of 200 times. I set the seed at the beginning. It is to estimate the success probability, which is

conditional function definition?
Hi Folks, What is the best way to avoid a function being read in anew (and masking an exiting function) when a definition of it has already been established in R? Reason: Fernando Tusell and I are working up Schafer's 'CAT' for R (basically done now, just needs some cosmetic tidying up). This uses a function 'slice.index', present in S but not in the versions of R we were

Recommended Groupware?
Hi, is there a recommended groupware (email + calendar + address book + syncing with mobile devices) on top of an existing dovecot installation? Most existing commercially supported groupwares come with their own mail storage engine. I would like to keep dovecot as the email storage engine because of the maildir format which greatly helps with backup & restore. Regards -- Robert Sander

Bus factor of dovecot / GIT
Hi, somebody from the kolab groupware project recently explained me that the Bus- Factor[1] of around 1 would be one of their primary reasons not to use Dovecot and stick with Cyrus. What do you think about that? Is the bus factor much higher then 1? [1] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bus_factor Somehow related: Since the free software world[2] slowly converges towards GIT as the "one and

Concerns about Samba4
Hi everybody. I attended the Samba conference at the FOSDEM yesterday. Jeremy Allison was great, and explained very clearly the problems faced by implementing an Active Directory controller. The CIFS protocol is required in heterogenous environments. Jeremy made it pretty clear that even in pure Unix environments, CIFS is quite superior to NFSv4. Samba is thus a required component of pretty

Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP?
Good evening from Singapore, Is there any way I can deploy cPanel web hosting control panel with Microsoft Exchange 2016 groupware behind one static public IP? Or do I need 2 static public IP addresses at the minimum? With Exchange 2016 groupware taking up HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, POP3, POP3S, SMTP, and SMTP/S ports, I personally don't think I can deploy cPanel behind the same public IP as

Dear Richard Grainger, I am grateful for your reply and guidance. After reading the following article at nginx.com, I realize that I should use a reverse proxy instead of a load balancer. Article: WHAT IS A REVERSE PROXY VS. LOAD BALANCER? Link: https://www.nginx.com/resources/glossary/reverse-proxy-vs-load-balancer/ Presently, I am using pfSense community edition firewall. slightly OT: opinions on best webservice implementation
We have been using more and more Ror for new applications. Right now we are debating on the best way to implement some new webservices that will interact with our payment gateway. These webservices will be backend type functions. Updating customer/billing records, retrieving data, etc.. The interface for actually processing transactions won''t be changing. Ideally, the webservice will

Routing between networks
Problem: I have four networks, A, B, C, and D Networks B, C, and D should not be able to see each other. Network A should be able to see all of them.
