creating a path diagram in sem
Hello, I finally run my measurement model in sem - successfully. Now, I am trying to print out the path diagram that is based on the results - but for some reason it's not working. Below is my script - but the problem is probably in my very last line: # ANALYSIS OF ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND FEAR - LISREL P.31 library(sem) # Creating the ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND FEAR intercorrelation matrix

sem vs. LISREL: sem fails
I am new to R. I just tried to recreate in R (using sem package and the identical input data) a solution for a simple measurment model I have found before in LISREL. LISREL had no problems and converged in just 3 iterations. In sem, I got no solution, just the warning message: "Could not compute QR decomposition of Hessian. Optimization probably did not converge. in: sem.default(ram =

Data Extraction - benchmark()
Hi Berend, I see you are one of the contributors to the rbecnhmark package. I am sorry that I am bothering you again. I have tried to run your code (slightly tweaked) involving the benchmark function, and I am getting the following error message. What am I doing wrong? Error in benchmark(d1 <- s1(df), d2 <- s2(df), d3 <- s3(df), d4 <- s4(df), : could not find function

How to solve a non-linear system of equations using R
Dear R-list members, I've had a hard time trying to solve a non-linear system (nls) of equations which structure for the equation i, i=1,...,4, is as follows: f_i(d_1,d_2,d_3,d_4)-k_i(l,m,s) = 0 (1) In the expression above, both f_i and k_i are known functions and l, m and s are known constants. I would like to estimate the vector d=(d_1,d_2,d_3,d_4) which is solution

Resumen de R-help-es, Vol 28, Envío 31
Hola, soy María, Estoy realizando un trabajo de control de calidad usando en R diferentes tipos de "Control charts", desde el tipo xbar.one, u, p, c,...Y al validar el cálculo de los estadísticos media y desviación típica de mis "Control Charts" en Excel, e investigando, me he dado cuenta de que R calcula las desviaciones de distinto modo según sea el tipo de control chart;

robust updating methods
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 WARNING: this is long. Sorry I couldn't find a way to compress it. Is there a reasonable way to design an update method so that it's robust to a variety of reasonable use cases of generating calls or data inside or outside a function? Is it even possible? Should I just tell users "don't do that"? * `update.default()` uses

creating standard curves for ELISA analysis
Hello R guru's I am a newbie to R, In my research work I usually generate a lot of ELISA data in form of absorbance values. I ususally use Excel to calculate the concentrations of unknown, but it is too tedious and manual especially when I have 100's of files to process. I would appreciate some help in creating a R script to do this with minimal manual input. s A1-G1 and A2-G2 are

rsync 3.0.7 hangs with unreadable hard-links files
Hello rsync list I've stumbled across a fairly obscure situation in which rsync hangs -- it just waits until I press ctrl-C. Here's a transcript. Note that directory foo contains two small files that are hard-linked together, and are unreadable. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- $ uname -a Linux ferox 2.6.35-28-generic-pae #50-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar

rsync equivalent of 'cp -al' ?
Hello rsync people I thought I knew how to use rsync, but I can't work out how to use it to do the equivalent of cp -al dir1 dir2 where dir1 and dir2 are both local and on the same disk. In other words I want to make dir2 a copy of dir1, with every file hard-linked to its counterpart in dir1. Why not just use cp? Because I want to be able to do it as a user who has sudo

DUNDi .... Halfway
Well, I've been dicking around with DUNDi for about 4 hours now. I have two systems that I am trying to get to peer with each other. Queries are working one way, but not the other. The server, pbx1, that is refusing to deliver any queries and logs what's below to the console. Why??? I've checked all the config files more times than I can remember. The 'RFC' for DUNDi at

rsync seems to overwhelm a failing hard disk
Hello rsync people Today I was recovering data from a beginning-to-fail external USB hard disk. I started with my usual 'rsync -av --ignore-errors <source> <dest>', and that was fine until it got to the first I/O errors. It paused but continued after the first couple of errors, but then the disk started buzzing and rsync gave error messages for every file (I'm afraid

3.0.1rc2 LDAP - problems joining domain
Hi, I'm back on the list ;-) I seem to be having some trouble getting W2K machines to join the domain in 3.0.1rc2. I haven't looked at this in detail since 2.2.8a but it looks like the account gets created in LDAP and then it has trouble setting the password appropriately. I believe this is the relevant part of the log: api_rpcTNP: samr op 0x3a - api_rpcTNP: rpc command:

Brandysnap -- a new rsync-based snapshot management script
Brandysnap is an rsync-based script with a difference. Unlike dirvish, it does not assign importance to snapshots when they are created. All snapshots are created equal, and then they are managed so that the required number of old snapshots is maintained. Unlike rsnapshot, brandysnap does not get its snapshots out of sync if runs are missed, and it is very easy to configure. The link between

My experience using -DLLVM_BUILD_INSTRUMENTED_COVERAGE to generate coverage
With llc, the size of the names section can vary widely depending on the value of -DLLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD. Enabling coverage shouldn't increase the name section size much. I only see one place where this happens, and it's relatively cold: http://lab.llvm.org:8080/coverage/coverage-reports/llvm/coverage/Users/buildslave/jenkins/sharedspace/clang-stage2-coverage-R at
