Problem with smbfs on 2.4.18 kernel
Hi all.. I have found some problems on smbfs module in 2.4.18 kernel. I compiled it by myself (not the very first kernel compilation in my life ;-)) and then I have got it. Looks like it touch smbfs module as when I recompile 2.4.18 modules with smbfs sources changed to sources of smbfs from 2.4.17 problem disappears!! My mainboard is Abit BE6 with Pentium III 450 MHz. I am using SuSE 7.3 with

plotting 0,1 data
Hello, Anyone know why the command: > plot(x,y) where y is a 0,1 result sometimes plots the y values as 1,2 rather than 0,1? And how to prevent this? Thank you, Georgiana May [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Text adjustment outside (0,1)
Funnily enough, it seems that adjustment of text in the verical direction is more flexible than in the horizontal. Horizontal adjustment parameters, seem to be set to the closest of 0 and 1 if they fall outside (0,1). Try e.g.: plot(0:1,0:1) for (a in seq(-5,5,0.5) ) text(0.5, 0.5, "Y", adj=c(0,a), cex=2, col="red" ) for (a in seq(-5,5,0.5) ) text(0.5, 0.5, "X",

1.4.10.[0,1] crashes when call parked
100% repeatable (for me). Sip phone A calls Sip phone B. Either Sip phone A or B does #700. The party that keyed #700 gets the parked announcement (eg 701) and the other party get MOH. There is still an audio channel between the two SIP phones at this point. When the party that typed #700 hangs up, Asterisk crashes. This has been working in previous 1.4's (but not 1.4.10) and I

Geometric Distribution at prob=c(0,1)
Dear all, I''m working with the geometric distribution for the time being, and I''m confused. This may have more to do with statistics than R itself, but since I''m getting results from R I find counterintuitive (well, yeah, my statistical intuition has not been properly sharpened), I feel like asking. The point first: If I do > rgeom(1,prob=1) I get: [1] NaN Warning

Probit predictions outside (0,1) interval
Hi! I was trying to implement a probit model on a dichotomous outcome variable and found that the predictions were outside the (0,1) interval that one should get. I later tried it with some simulated data with a similar result. Here is a toy program I wrote and I cant figure why I should be getting such odd predictions. x1<-rnorm(1000) x2<-rnorm(1000) x3<-rnorm(1000)

logistic regression with response 0,1
Dear Masters, first I'd like to wish u all a great 2011 and happy holydays by now, second (here it come the boring stuff) I have a question to which I hope u would answer: I run a logistic regression by glm(), on the following data type (y1=1,x1=x1); (y2=0,x2=x2);......(yn=0,xn=xn), where the response (y) is abinary outcome on 0,1 amd x is any explanatory variable (continuous or not)
