save failed to open mailbox quarantine
I use postfix. The folder name is still uppercase when forwarded to dovecot, as
can be seen in /var/log/mail.log.

post your config, do you use %Ln or %Lu to lower-case the username
somewhere in passdb?

configured mechanisms don't work
Hi,
I am new to this list and to dovecot. Forgive me if I ask long discussed
items.
I managed to install postfix and dovecot 1.0.rc15 on a Debian Sarge server out
of the backports. It works so far, I can send emails via smtp to postfix,
they are stored in the virtual mailboxes of some users, and I can get them
via IMAP from dovecot. However, in dovecot.conf I configured

Sanity checking on dovecot
I'm setting up a new server. I have a couple of dozen users, and
several domains.
I've set up Postfix as my MTA, and it's dropping things into
maildirs. Now I want to get Dovecot to work for POP/IMAP. (Getting
SMTP AUTH to work is also on the agenda, but slightly tangential.)
Postfix is putting things into /var/mail/vhosts, an example line in
my vmailbox file is:

mail extra field to override default mail_location for only certain users
I am running version 1.1.1 with mail_location: maildir:~/Maildir. This is
working great as all our users have UNIX accounts with nologin shells. New
domains (and their users) are about to come online and we would like to
migrate to a setup with virtual mailboxes/users. From the wiki and comments
within dovecot.conf, I see it is possible to do this piecemeal so both local
and virtual users

Hundreds of auth-worker sockets in /etc/dovecot
I run dovecot 1.2.6, before last update I had 1.2.2. on Debian Lenny. I
noticed that my config directory /etc/dovecot is filled up with hundreds of
old auth-worker.12345 sockets. I guess they should have been cleaned up, is
there a misconfiguration? When I remember right, this did not happen with
dovecot 1.1.

save failed to open mailbox quarantine
I have dovecot 2.2.13 set up with spamassassin and amavis. This works fine so
far, Spam emails are forwarded to "username+Quarantine at mydomain.de". The
recipient_delimiter=+ is set, the Quarantine folder exists. However, Dovecot
tries to deliver it to a folder quarantine, that does not exist. In the
dovecot-deliver.log there are these lines:

I looked into that problem a bit more. Several programs use

openssh-2.9.9p2 session.c uses two undeclared void functions
I found this problem on 32-bit Solaris 8 sparc. session.c uses two
void functions without declaring them first; this violates the C
standard, which requires declarations for such functions. Here's a
patch.

pheno package
Dear R-people,
I tried to use a command seqMK(x) of the pheno package. However, the
installation of the package fails with following error message:
Error in library(pkg, character.only = TRUE) :
'pheno' is not a valid package -- installed < 2.0.0?
What is the matter? Can anybody help me? I installed the latest version
of R.
Cheers,
Anja

samba-2.0.7pre2 and file timestamps
I just installed 2.0.7pre2 on a test system.
The file "touch" problem from 2.0.6 seems to be back. Running various
utilities called "touch" do not successfully update file timestamps on a
filesystem provided by 2.0.7pre2.
I actually prefer THIS incorrect behavior over the behavior I've seen after
this bug is "fixed". The bugfix posted by Paul Eggert for 2.0.6

openssh-2.9.9p2 subscript violation problems with ctype macros
In several places, openssh-2.9.9p2 passes a 'char' value to a ctype
macro like 'isdigit'. This has undefined behavior on hosts with
signed characters, if the character value happens to be negative. For
example, isdigit('\200') expands to an array access that is a
subscript error on hosts with signed characters where '\200' == -128.
This leads to incorrect results,

%d in configuration file does not work
I am trying to set up dovecot in a postfix virtual account/domains setting.
In the configuration file I would like to use %d in two places, for:
mail_location = /var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n
and to specify the location of the respective passwd file:
passdb passwd-file {
args = /etc/auth/%d/shadow
}
Looking at the logs, %d is empty while %n works, so dovecot is looking for
something in
