New UPS for Support List
Hi All,
I have got the Belkin F6S600auUSB UPS working with the blazer_usb driver.
I pulled the power to the ups last night and it sent a message to the server saying it was on battery then ran for another 10 minutes and then sent a message to the server telling it to shut down, which it did.
upswr did not return anything.

You already showed yourself unworthy of getting help from people here. In
fact, you are soooo smart that I don't even understand why you came here
in the first place...
Why don't you just go and consult yourself about your problems?

RC6 startup failure: "Login prcess died too early"
Greetings.
I have been running Dovecot-1.0rc2 on a test server for the last couple
of weeks. No problems. However, when I installed RC6 this morning,
Dovecot refused to launch completely. Here's the relevant snippet from

[PATCH] EHCI/Xen: propagate controller reset information to hypervisor
Just like for the in-tree early console debug port driver, the
hypervisor - when using a debug port based console - also needs to be
told about controller resets, so it can suppress using and then
re-initialize the debug port accordingly.
Other than the in-tree driver, the hypervisor driver actually cares
about doing this only for the device where the debug is port actually
in use, i.e. it needs

bad performance on 2.4.23
hi,
- big and ugly mail. If you don't like them, delete it now :-) -
I have collected and classified some information of:
http://home.earthlink.net/~rwhron/kernel/bigbox.html
And I observed that ext3 performance is worse than previous
kernels(2.4.19...). -ac and -aa are here only as reference.
Complete information is in the upper URL.
dbench: Performance is worse.

[PATCH] Clean up x86 control register and MSR macros
This patch is based on Rusty's recent cleanup of the EFLAGS-related
macros; it extends the same kind of cleanup to control registers and
MSRs.
It also unifies these between i386 and x86-64; at least with regards
to MSRs, the two had definitely gotten out of sync.

phpldapadmin and samba4
I'm testing the Samba4 rc6 and Phpldapadmin 1.2.3 in Debian Wheezy.
All is working, but phpldapadmin..
When i click to edit any item on the left menu, the "retrieving DN" message
is displayed for some seconds and after this, other message is displayed:
"There was a problem with the request."
Looking at the logs:

v1.1.rc6 released
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/rc/dovecot-1.1.rc6.tar.gz
http://dovecot.org/releases/1.1/rc/dovecot-1.1.rc6.tar.gz.sig
This is it. The first v1.1 release that actually deserves the "release
candidate" name. It contains everything I require from v1.1.0 release.
There are two bugs left that I'd like to get fixed, but they won't block

how to search r-help?
I am new to this listand am unable to get the search tools listed on
https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-help towork. What do people use
to search the help archives?
1. The google search box on http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/~rking/R/
returns a 404 error.
2. The http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/ site has many references but I
don't see how to search r-help from there.

help!! warning:only the first element has been used
i simply want a set of numbers in a vector which:
in the vector v, i want the numbers be (x[1]*x[2]*....*x[100],
x[2]*x[3]*...*x[100], x[3]*x[4]*...*x[100],...,x[98]*x[99]*x[100],
x[99]*x[100],x[100])
so there should be 100 elements in the vector.
here's how i do it
x=rnorm(100,0.5,0.2)
v=prod(x[(1:100):100])
but it turns out failed as it says there are 100 elements in the expression,
but only
